Long time 'lurker' but fan of the site and longer term fan of the club. I've been following them since the glory days.  Circumstances don't permit me to get to matches very much these days but I was for a time a Season Ticket holder in BC Stand. 

It's been exciting to see the improvements made under Mr Marinakis, particularly the reinstatement of a proper off-field management structure. It's also been good to see the gradual improvement of the team during his ownership although I'm sure we would all be greedy for more. I'm interested to see who arrives during this window but have been impressed by the job Sabri Lamouchi has done so far. I think he is the best manager we've had for a while so I'll use my first post to say good luck to him and the team for the second half of the season and to say hello and happy new year to you all.

From the 1st January to coincide with the new year and the opening of the transfer window I will be making some changes to the forum. I have received a few complaints from posters about the amount of people who view the forum on a regular basis but never ever post anyhing. So to all the viewers, you need to start contributing by making a post every now and then otherwise your account will probably be deleted.

Also from the 1st January the forum will be visible to registered users only. So all people who curretly visit the forum as a guest will need to register (it's quick, simple and free) to continue to view and use the forum.

I was a season ticket holder for 20 years through the glory years, but now am heavily involved in non league football which takes my time. However wherever I am on match day I will have the Forest game on my headphones.

I know it's probably not intentional but this all just comes across a bit like when the loud one in the group targets the quiet one & turns everyone against them cos they're 'weird' & they get kicked out of the group.

I get you are just trying to get people to join in but I'm not sure threatening to boot them out of the group if they don't is the best course of action.
Having said that I don't know what is so maybe you're right. It just doesn't sit right with me & doesn't feel like it's in the same benevolent spirit that this website is so proud of.

Being abusive or causing problems with other posters is a kicking out offence, not not participating!

There are times when I don't really have anything to say or sometimes I dont feel like typing, but I enjoy reading what others put. I would sooner read a post that is sensible, makes a point, has some thought behind it, amusing maybe or a potential piece of 'news'. I dont want to read any old crap, just so posters can keep their membership, which is what could happen and if that does happen, the forum could potentially lose some of its better posters for that very reason. I'm not saying it will, just what could happen.

There! I've said my bit, so hopefully, I'm good for a few more weeks  :P

Hi there long time lurker on most of the Forest forums in the past but only two now.

Been following Forest for 67 years, I know I could not believe it.

Born in Sneinton, a few of us used to wander down to either Meadow Lane or the City Ground on a Saturday as they opened the ground at half time for people to leave early. Thats when we would sneak in and watch the second half. Eventually my next door neighbour took to me to my first full match at Forest. On the kop between the Bridgeford end and the Brian Clough stand. That was it.
Held a season ticket for many years and one year, when we in div 3 I decided to try and get to every game home and away. I managed it bar two games. Refused entry at Colchester, trying to sneak into the home end.

I am more of a 3/4 full glass type of person. The year we got relegated from div 2 I had a bet on us winning the league with 100 points+ and 100 goals+.

I had a bet on Kevin Campbell scoring 30 goals the year he had a hat trick against Coventry, I think he ended up with 4 goals for the season.

I think I would like to see us in the premiership and will worry about beating Derby's points score once we get there.
