We have a suitable replacement for Sow already and we should utilise him ASAP - Yacob or at least get him the shop window if looking for other Sow replacements.
Absolutely embarrassing to be so overrun by the bottom team in the league yesterday at home.
Samba / Grabban - the reasons we are top 6.
Defense - did OK and had a lot to deal with. Cheema looks solid on the left but obviously limited going forward.
Midfield - AWOL/MIA.
Sorry I know we are not allowed to say bad things about him but Watson looked like the 35 year old player he is yesterday - I`d say get Colback in to replace/supplement him if we want to sustain a top 6 position.
If Jenkins is back now then another option for wingers would be Cash.

I wouldn’t move Cash from RB he’s doing so well generally in that position. We all know the problem yesterday was the midfield, it was totally ineffective. I don’t agree with whoever says we shouldn’t go for Coleback as we have Watson, Watson is 35years old, he’s been very good this season but for a 35 year old to go a whole season without being injured is asking too much, he will run out of steam or take a knock at some point and we need cover. We also need cover for Sow, great player but injury prone( how many have those have we had over the years).
A quality striker is also a must as at some point Grabban will take a knock, if we can’t get a striker maybe recall Walker? Mir is just not up to standard.
As someone says I’ve seen enough of Semedo, was also very annoyed at Aemobi yesterday, his positioning was awful he was just not interested.
A very frustrating afternoon but 3 points we would have dropped in recent seasons I’ll take them but we must improve if we are to stand any chance of being in the playoffs.

My take on the game was we got the 3 points and we are in a good position to go out and sign some top players to add more creativity to the team going forward. Would have taken the top 6 in Jan at the start of the season. In the first half of the season we have developed a style of play which gives us a good base to build on. It take time to build a promotion winning team and we are going about it in the correct manner. At the start of the season we had a poor defence and midfield and were always over run. We have now filled some holes and even tho some gaps still remain we are difficult to beat. Next step is to get the players which can make the difference further up the pitch while keeping the strength within the team.

Well that was awful, thankfully the fates were with us.
I view 3rd choice players as ones who can come on for 20-30 min when we're comfortably winning, or play 90min when the rest of the side are 1st or 2nd string choices. But in that bracket yesterday I counted 5 players - Carvalho, Yates, Semedo, Chema (at LB), Ameobi. All players who have things to contribute and are useful in the squad, but having that many all in the same side together leaves us woefully lacking as a team overall.
Not Lamouchi's fault, he has to rest players & his game-plan worked - win it from the bench. But it's shocking that we've opted to loan Bostock + Semedo instead of bring in the likes of Colback for what wouldn't be a massive amount more. Recruitment may have contacts & scored a few decent deals, but it's totally failed to grasp the overall squad picture by some way.
We need quality signings in, and we need them in by Jan 11th so they're bedded for the 3 games in 7 days starting Jan 19th. Expecting a lot? Yes, but we've had 18 months to add the likes of a winger, DM & forward that been blindly obvious we've needed. That expectancy has been created by our own previous failings.
This league is weak, the opportunity is there, and we've faffed about with garbage loans & make-do freebies like Ameobi & Adomah to get us up. I wouldn't sack whoever's responsible this morning, I'd just punch him square in the face and tell him to sort it out sharpish.

I don’t want the likes of Yates anywhere near the first team squad - he is not the future ( this season in the championship or future years in either the championship or, fingers crossed, PL ).
We need so much better than what he can offer.
Sell - NOW - whilst there is some value.
I wish him every success in Leagues 1 & 2.

He's a place in the squad, we'd be a further 4-6pts down had he not played when Sow got injured, and that would possible have been enough to see Mouch sacked. We shouldn't get rid of these players because they're not up to being 1st choice yet, we need depth too.
The problem is the failure to bring in another 1st/2nd choice DM such as Colback or a young Geddy. Yates will be costing us 50-100k/year in wages, we won't likely sign someone as committed, willing to play 3rd choice or available for that same price. We also won't get much for Yates if we do sell either. So it makes little sense to get rid.
The only player who we should be looking to sell out that 3rd string is Carvalho because he costs us so much each year he's here (2.6m + wages), and that prevents us investing in other players significantly. Semedo is pap, but I'm not bothered about sending him back because again it's an extra body, one capable of scoring, for the last 20-30 min if needed. He just, like Yates, shouldn't be seeing so many starts.

Been watching him for 5 years Sniff.
He's got confidence you want to bottle.
And enthusiasm to die for.
But little else.
My last word on the subject - I promise ( you’ll be pleased to know ).

I think the 2.6m a year refers to the outstanding part of his fee we owe Benfica. Were we to sell him I suspect the buying club would effectively take on the outstanding fee, whether anyone would do that who knows. A loan would do him good, his confidence is utterly shot here.
