Sorry for going off topic.
Would you rather have dinner with Jeremy Corbyn or Ryan Yates?
Now, now, Sniffer Dog....*Brian Clough voice....let's stay on Topic with Forest talk. ;)
Forest have 'actual' leadership (perhaps MaRI' can consultancy some 'leadership' out for those who don't know how...) and are making progress.
It shows what competency, enthusiasm and respect (actually listen to your customer base) can bring.

Yep. Playing for the under 23's today.
He's actually playing for the u23s? That's progress.
It's another chance for Yates and Watson to continue the master and apprenticeship. Silva or Car' to stamp their 'authority' (here's wishing) on the ACM role.

Be wrong to drop Yates after scoring. Give him a start & bring Sow on if needed

One thing that is really bothering me is the perception that we are playing 4231. To me that is not the case at all - 433 or 4141 is what I am seeing. It often morphs into a 3-4-2-1 with Watson sitting between the 2 centre halves and full backs bombing on and wingers tucking in. I would be interested to see carvalho getting some minutes a bit deeper to see what he could do there. I think he needs to start on Saturday or he well maybe off. It’s a shame, I am a fan but he really struggles to get hold of games and make an impact. He has been poor when played on the wing and we are not setting up with him as a 10 anyway. When we have (v Hull) he started brightly but the whole team were tactically undone by their manager playing the risky game of pushing his wingers high when we were attacking.
I think the players owe us a performance tomorrow and hope Sheffield actually make a decent game of it other than stifle and play for time after 10 minutes like Cardiff and middlesboro

Yates has done fine.
Really? Not convinced Sniffer.
Good goal midweek - but that disguised another less than convincing performance.
Absolutely spot on.

Yates must have the best goals/minutes on the pitch ratio to any other player, scored 1 and hit the bar v Boro, and this isn't the only player who doesn't fully understand how to link up effectively with other offensive players, there is a lack of understanding and ultimately telepathy in the final 3rd. At least with Yates he will give his all and doesn't seek glory just the best for the team, does thankless stuff, scores far more goals per touch than probably any other player, until more senior players refine their game and stop having rushes of blood when within 30 yards of goal ... Yates is first name on the team sheet for me

Yates doesn’t have the touch to operate in tight spaces in the final third and a finesse of pass to create but what he was doing was making runs into the box to get on the end of crosses.

I said he has done fine I didn't compare him to Pirlo.

Someone told me that Yates is meant to have quite a length on him. No wonder he's so confident and at it.
Judging by this pic it looks as if it hangs right too.

we played very well and started both games against Cardiff and Newcastle exceptionally brightly with technical play high up the pitch, chances, also total possession. Be lovely to score a couple in the first half, i think we will start well again. Good chance of winning. Wednesday quite dependent on set pieces which could play into our hands, usually good at defending these and getting the ball forward quickly.
Difficult decision for Sabri but the subs versus Newcastle maybe where the blame lies for the loss though noone could of predicted the chasm between the sublime prior to our goal and the ridiculous after. Carv won 1 tackle and made an awesome pass upto to Grabban but besides that he totally disappeared. Personally i would of preferred Chema to come on, players that can defend and win the ball back but also reasonably mobile and good technically.
Ultimately, we, like many teams really struggle to turn possession and having all the territory into goals but got to say we are playing well at home, just need us to have better final decisions and a bit more composure.
Early onslaught pays off, good substitutions late on.
