Millwall - Nottingham Forest

I didn't think Forest would get anything out the game based on 1st half.  Shocking.

To go up with a few mins to go.  You'd expect Forest to take the points.

I was disappointed.  I think Grabban was too, not to get the win.  Typical.

It's good to see Watson getting the plaudits.

A point away from home isn't bad.  Given the circumstances?  All the more so.

Yes.  It's what happens when the midfield doesn't have Sow or Yates in it.

You need legs and physical presence in there.

Especially against the likes of Cardiff and Mwah. Very different requirements for the next 2 games...

"I probably didn’t get it right, because we changed after the break but the way we started the game wasn’t good, without make good passes, the second balls and the intensity we were so far between us."

Fair play. The Coach held his hand up.

At least he changed things to get 'a' result.

I also thought having 3 central defenders seemed to confuse the issue rather than strengthen us at the back. At least he binned it off.
Just read that we need to get a decent keeper on another site!!! Seriously, someone actually said this. One goal  costing mistake in how many games? As opposed  to how many match winning /match saving performances. No such thing as perfection in football, but Samba has been pretty close, especially for a Championship keeper...

Im just begining to get the feeling his level is dropping a little. Hes starting randomly punching away shots he should be catching and the last goal last night has to go down to him. Dawson back in the side might settle him.

Sabri's gone down very slightly in my estimation after last night. He over estimated Millwalls threat and conpletely messed the whole side up as a result. It wasnt needed, we could have blown them away had we started with team and formation that finished the game. He did the same at Wigan. Why do it???

And while im in criticism mode, Rafa Mir. Thanks for your efforts, now piss off, you're not up to the required level. I suggest you look for a league 1 club in January.

The very 1st pass that went into him was spilled and that set the tone for his entire performance. The 3 at the back wod have worked better had Mir been able to take a pass and hold it. And when playing on the left he wasnt tracking back. When he did he was a joke defensivly. The fact that he was shoved out there in the 2nd half speaks volumes for how.poor he was.

He cant finish, he cant play as a sole.striker, he can control the ball, hes physically weak. I just dont see any positive attributes in him.

What efforts?
Also, Semedos performance in comparison to Carvalho last week? Forget price tags (please, just for a moment) Semedo for 50 minutes made a negative contribution. Losing 70 30 duels, giving ball away and not running back towards own goal. Carvalho, had a good ball retention stats, played 2 very good forward passes to open up opponents, 2 shots (one skied admittedly, but other should have been a pen). Worked hard. Also lost his duels and faded, so not a good game by any stretch.

Imagine the stick if Carvhalho had performed lime Semedo did.

Alf is right about loans though. Muric-bin off.

Mir- please bin off.

Semedo-ok if players around him do his dirty work. On a bad day though (eg.Charlton or last night) he is a liability. At least Mir does nothing. Semedo is like a bonus us for the other team on those days. Yet then there is Birmingham and Swansea...

Bostock- not trusted against Cardiff or Millwall despite being built like an athlete probably says what we need to know.

Grabbs 1st goal.

Physical teams we can't cope with. Lamouchi was so nervous of it he played 3 centre backs and carthorse Mir.

Id sell carvalho if ten mill was on the table and get Gayle in. We need goal scorers not bench warmers

Great little Semedo summary that Zic.

Other players may be anonymous or poor, but Semedo on a bad day is like a bonus for them. I really hope we only use him as an off-the-bench option in coming games when needed. He's got goals & drive, but it's too risky starting him at the mo.
