I like young Ryan, I rate him.

He needs to learn a lesson though from his sending off today.

He got away with doing something similar against Derby too.

I appreciate that he is young and enthusiastic Sniffer, but as you say, he has got to learn a lesson from today because that challenge was far too reckless and, like you also said, he got away with one against the Rams.

Ryan needs to reign in that over-zealousness and channel it in the right direction

I see a big future for Yates, but he has to now realise there are better ways to react to provocation (if there was any) or to establish he is not to be messed with in this league or to smash a player who deserves it (Lawrence). He will get enough red and yellows in his career for mistimed tackles or rubbish refs so daft 2 footed lunges need to be left for when we are 3-0 up against Sheep or Scousers.

Fair comments.  I'm a big fan of Yates.  And he has a promising future.

Two footed.  Can't do it.  It's not like he's a nasty, reckless player.  His 1st red card for Forest?  Another ref might have given him a talking to and a yellow.  There's been refs that have given yellows and Forest players have been cleaned out and rolling around in agony.

That said.  I'm not defending it.  A red is a red.

He'll learn from this.  Could have cost Forest the point they did have.  Could have cost them a win.  If that wasn't punishment enough, he'll have 3 games out.  With Sow probably back in the running by then and he'll probably have to contend with a place on the bench.

He's an honest pro and a decent young man.  His dynamic and aggressive presence was missed when he went off.  But the team rallied.  He'll punish himself and he'll learn and come back from this.

He got away with it a bit vs Derby.  (I didn't feel there was contact but the two footed attempt was there before he kind of stopped himself.)

His game is a bit on the edge.  But he'll learn better judgement.  A shame.  Just when he was getting back from injury and settled in the side.

Bit of a pain barrier.  Os had to have kick up the backside.  Worrall has had to learn the hard way in the cauldron of Scottish football.  And Cash has been done for a few goals at RB but he's come out the other side as a RB being hawked by Premiership clubs.

Yates.  He'll be back.  But the price will be patience.  And lesson learned.

On reflection, I'm actually quite enthused by yesterday. Wrong set of actions, but right drive & enthusiasm behind it.

Like a young lad getting carried away with his first girlfriend and smashing it straight up the wrong 'un, no lube. Give him a bit of time & experience and ecstasy will follow.

i was thinking Ryan was going to get the winner yesterday, he seems to be fitting in very well with Sabri's team ethos, players who predominantly work hard and can play a bit, the ref was probably making quite a few players agitated, i think the incident will be a steep learning curve.
We need to become the more savvy side, with fickle refs, overplay around the oppositions area and draw the fouls, as i said in another post we do some excellent approach play, nothing really wrong with Lolley cutting in and crossing but we do have players who could keep recycling it and antagonising opponents into making the rash challenge.
Just prior to the challenge we were debating on the stream if Yates was actually the Gerrard and Keane composite, if not better!

If only? Now, I rate Yates and believe he is destined to play at the top, but this would be some player. Caveat: The only thing Gerrard could do as a player that Keano couldnt was talk Scouse. In every aspect of being a footballer, Keane was better. Gerrard wasn't even considered good enough to play in the centre for Scousepool much of the time. A composite of the two would just be Roy Keane.
