If my info is correct (doubtful  :)) we have the following players out of contract next summer (not including loans).

Jack Robinson, Sammy Ameobi, Claudio Yacob, Yohan Benalouane (don't think he ever signed an extension did he?), Michael Dawson, Ben Watson and Jordan Smith.

In your opinion anybody worth offering a new deal to?

Out of that lot I'd say the only one worth keeping would be Ameobi, the rest are either too old, injury prone or just aren't fancied by the manager, and I've only gone for Ameobi because of what I've seen of him so far since he has been here.

Really cant understand whats the problem with Yacob. He signed, didn't feature and then looked great when he came in the side under AK and got established. Then he disappeared again. IMO there must be a contractual issue that's preventing him from playing- maybe an expensive auto extension based on games played. He'll go, no doubt.

Robinson, Ameobi, Beno and Smith I would say are all dependent on if we get promoted or not. If we stay down they should stay.

Dawson and Watson, I'd give new deals to - they've been excellent players for us and I could see them even playing a few games in the prem.

I think we will let Smith go. Marios Siabanis who is currently on loan from Olympiakos is really impressing and I think we'll sign him on a permanent deal. Yacob will go 100%.

The others Robinson, Ameobi, Dawson, Watson and even Benalouane (if he proves his fitness) I would give them new short deals if we are in the Championship. If we managed to go up I would be tempted to let them all leave with a heavy heart.

I am not convinced that Benalouane signed a new contract.

I suppose everything will depend on what Division we are in; if we go up I would imagine most of the players out of contract will be let go.

Dawson will no doubt end up with a Coaching role

Watson & Daws for coaching! But important in January to draw next premier league season with strong players ,3 or 4 , for big team to reach 1/2 place! COYR.

I thought he earned an extension to 2020.

Yeah, if we go up all will go, if not I'd keep Sammy, Jack and Ben.

Sentiment would say keep all if they've earned a promotion.  But in the real world.

Jack.  Out.  In the premier.  A reserve squad LB..?  Not really good enough for where Forest are going.  He's not pulling up trees in the Championship.  Often AWOL at LB.
Sammy.  Stay.  Worth another year.  He's played for Newcastle.  He's doing well for Forest.  Even as a squad player in the Premier.  Useful squad member.
Yacob.  Out.  He's leaving.  Matter of time.  He's been frozen out under two managers.  That tells you something.
Yohan.  Staying..?  If we get promoted.  Be interesting to see how he'd handle the Premier.  Leicester payed 6 mil for him?  Definite quality.  Premiership quality.  A question mark over game temperament ergo why Leicester let him go so easy.  I've got my doubts he'll feature for 'The Coach.'  If we get a good cash deal for him.  He's gone.  Shame, there's a monster CH inside of him.
Dawson.  Out.  Quality.  Leadership.  But his body is just about done in football terms.  He'll be leaving as a player.
Ben.  Out.  Same as Dawson.  This year will be his career Swan Song...before his body gives out.
Jordan Smith.  Out.  Looks to be on his way out.  Just not good enough.  Not all Academy graduates are or will be.  (See Grant and maybe Tyler.  The latter good enough for the Premier?)

With the new ruthless approach to recruitment, be lucky if we have 1 or 2 retained from that list.

SA.
