Otherwise it is good business for a guy with a knee injury.

SA.

There is a lesson to be learnt there. We should not sell players until a replacement is already in place.

Aye.  I remember when we let Geddy go under Billy.  Forest were flying high.  No adequate replacement signed.  It cost us.

We let Shorey go all too easily and didn't sign a replacement.

Forest had Moussi and McKenna injured (not fully rehabbed and coming back from injury) and playing games.

Last season we had no CHs for cover for Dawson.  This season we do have Milo and he doesn't play but the out of form Fig' does.

Last season Forest had Grabban out injured and we didn't really have sufficient quality of cover.  We reached for Gayle or Tammy and couldn't quite grasp?

This season, Forest are treading on thin ice with Grabban (Dawson is out) and we better hope he doesn't get injured over Oc/Nov/Dec'.

I have my fingers crossed.

Recruitment is better this year.  No doubt Forest are stronger deeper in many positions.  But we don't have the finished article yet.  The squad still needs some more work as the game vs Wigan demonstrated.

You don't fix a club for Forest 'that weren't fit for purpose' in 4 transfer windows. It's more like 5 or 6 with the right leadership and recruitment staff off the field. And it's working overall as the league position suggests. However the CH, CM and Striker positions (AGAIN along the spine of the side for the second year running....) are questions that are still to be answered.

Perhaps in the January window. It could easily be another 2-3....4 or 5 players in this January.

maybe soudani didnt want to be here with guediora going. its hard to know. perhaps was just a holiday for the year. its all ifs and buts

striker is most important area its a pity we didnt bring in 1 decent one considering we shipped out walker, arnsarifard , murphy and soudani.

is bostock better than yacob/bridcutt?

Overall the quality of the squad is not much different. There remain some gaping deficiencies if promotion is the aim. The obvious one is striker options but also apart from Lolley we do not have enough creativity and threat from wide positions.

I have thought for some time the squad is much of a much from last season, stronger in some areas weaker in others, just Sabri was getting the most out of them.
What concerns me is that Lolley, our best player and match winner from last season is seemingly nowhere near the same level, Carvalho too is arguably going backwards again. What we dont have right now is others stepping up to take their place.

Last season our squad struggled without Dawson......this year we are missing Dawson. Our December dip has been brought forward a touch. Hope we can snap out of it.

More to it than just missing Dawson.

Carvalho and Lolley are not at the races, I think that's more of a problem than Dawson being out.
Panic on the streets of Croydon, Derby, Sheffield, Leicestershire.

i agree with comments.

carvalho has gone backwards. lolley and robinson have both been poor. lolley cant beat a man, its turn inside and try the spectacular.

Yep, I agree.

Back to basics on Saturday I feel. Start with Yates (instead of Carvalho) to get some tackling ability back in the side. Play Silva further forward (his tackling can be reckless IMO), win the midfield. No fancy stuff, just try to dominate the game. Build some confidence back and hope Lolley or Grabban's quality comes through and they put a chance away. Fight for a 1-0 win and get us going again.

Yep agree with above the tackling is the big issue in CM right now, carvalho probably got 0 last night and silva is better but still not great. Yates will definitely start and ideally Semedo was a decent tackler if he reappears at some point. Without Sow we need to cover with players that can tackle.

Sow and Semedo currently missing from our midfield is hurting us badly at the minute.

where is semedo? no sign of him .

Still of exactly the same opinion as I was season start, better balanced but weaker squad.

The overall lack of attacking threat is no surprise, and we've had a thin frontline & lack of options since last year.

Needs addressing in Jan though, or it'll be another mid-table season.
