Is Our Squad Stronger Or Weaker Than Last Season
I had forgotten about Soudani and Ansarifard.

To intentionally make ourselves weaker, regardless of who we could have retained was a terrible strategy.

soudani scored 2 goals over the weekend for olympiacos. he did have something about him.

I've not given up on Bostock. One average game in his 2nd start doesn't mean his rubbish. He will have been affected as much as anyone by the switch in formation.

As for Mir, yes he's young and we need to give him time but unfortunately for him, he's playing at the sharp end of the side - the one that makes a difference, so he's not going to get time. He's not looked at all likely to score in the games he's played and accordingly he looks a bit doomed here. The club will bring in an additional striker in Jan, maybe two, and I cant see him featuring unless Grabban gets injured between now and then.

The 442 formation was to accommodate Mir, IMO. To make him less isolated up top. Cant see Sabri rushing to use it again to be honest.

Good point about 442, the most effective Mir has looked is when we went 442 against West Brom and he played up front with Grabban.

Bostock was very poor against Wigan. But I don't thin the formation suited him. He and Watson are too similar. Bostock doesn't have the energy to control the middle, and looks happier when he has space and everything is in front of him. He should not play alongside Watson again. Will Watson pay every game? Doubt it.

In the cold light of day, shipping out Soudani and Ansarifard doesn't look too bright to replace only with Mir.

But Soudani spend most of his time injured and Ansari spent a lot of his time falling over trying to get a free kick.

Mir doesn't look like it's going to work.  Forest's transfer team are going to have to try harder.

Tyler, Cummings and Murphy all appear to have specific strengths that you can play to and would arguably offer us more than what Mir does. I hope the lad comes good but he plays like a striker with no confidence, that final chance when he was played in by Bostock and he just lashed at it suggests to me that he doesn’t even believe he’s going to score.

The strike force weaker but I have no problem releasing or loaning Walker, Cummings and Murphy.

The one player I would have kept though was Soudani. I think that was the mistake.

Soudani was a wiry customer who did have a goal in him.  But I guess they got a decent fee for a player whose knee had left him out for most of the season.  Maybe the warmer climate of Greece will suit him better.

Forest's new hierarchy like to wheel and deal.

I agree getting rid of Soudani was a mistake.

It is if you don't replace him adequately. (Forest let two strikers go (and more) for various reasons.)

Otherwise it is good business for a guy with a knee injury.

There is a lesson to be learnt there. We should not sell players until a replacement is already in place.

Me too, at least until a replacement was signed.
