I'm struggling to see how any of the players can have any belief left in a manager who has guided them to 4 wins in 30 odd games. They may want to play for him but maybe they haven't got a f*****g clue how or what they are supposed to be doing right now.

I know Forest are on a decent run, but are they really anything other than a tidy championship team?

Not seen much of them in fairness but plenty of teams get off to decent starts and tail off, especially with new managers. I hope their start isn’t used as an excuse for us to bottle it. Although Jones needs to go, we need 3 points and he needs to try and win this game. Any of this 5 at the back and 1 up front rubbish needs sacking off. If you’re going to go out, go out fighting Nathan. Don’t meekly surrender at home to a nothing side like Forest.

I remember for the first bit of last season thinking Norwich were a nothing side. Even after they came to our place and beat us I still didn't think they'd have the quality to do what they ended up doing.

How Norwich got promoted, I'll never know. Forest should have beaten them at the City Ground. And away at their place. But credit Norwich, they stuck with their manager despite a mediocre mid-table finish the season before. Building something. Giving it time.

Forest vs Stoke. It's one of those 'kickstart' the season for another side on a poor run games. They seem to have happened a lot over the last 20 years for Forest. A 'must win' or pivotal game that finally shows Forest are going to do something 'different' and Forest have had a tendency to bottle them, fold, lose, not turn up...somehow capitulate.

For this season to be truly different, it would be nice to see Forest break the live tv hoodoo, 'important' game for 'x' reason hoodoo....and beat a team at the bottom of the table hoodoo. All the type of games Forest have lost in recent times.

There are very few Forest players I'd want down Stoke. They're a garbage outfit.

I have a lot of sympathy with Stoke to be honest, mainly because we have been in exactly the same situation as them, 20 odd years ago.

Remember the first time we were relegated from the Premier League? We were playing some wonderful football, but just could not get the rub of the green. Many commentators kept saying Forest were too good to be relegated, but we were, plain and simple. Why? Because we werent good enough in front of goal. At the end of the day, if you let in more goals than you score, you will lose. That is obvious.

It looks like the same is happening at Stoke. They played us off the park for the opening 30 minutes, with some lovely passing football and not allowing us time on the ball, forcing errors. But at the same time, you could see a desperation in their approach in the final third. It seemed like as soon as they got to within 2 yards of the edge of our penalty area, they had to shoot for goal. So many wasted chances. It seemed like they were trying too hard.

Their defence is something to be concerned about though, if I was a Stoke fan. I thought their defence were very suspect and were more than susceptible to making errors, which they eventually did, to their cost!

They have got the players to storm this league, but do they have the guts to push forwards? I think it will only take a win or two to boost their confidence levels to see them start to climb out of the bottom half of the league.

Yeah seems a pretty accurate analysis to me, they pressed us really well (although didn’t really create much in the way of clear cut chances aside from that through ball in first minute)

Defensively though whenever we got into the final third I fancied us to score, Butland looks like a liability, they should’ve cashed in on him years ago!

Thankfully not much time to dwell on that abysmal performance against Luton. I missed the last 35 minutes when my feed dropped and I will miss all of this because I will be flying Tuesday night.
Forest next up who have the benefit of having played and won at Stoke Friday night to take top slot for 16 hours.

They are no great shakes but no weak links either. Nothing exceptional apart from being the dirtiest team I have seen in ages. The niggling fouls come thick and fast stopping the opposition from playing so if we don't have a decent ref on Tuesday, a red card from frustration for one of our players has to be on the cards....

Forest simply had to wait for the Stoke unforced errors of which there were at least 30. In truth, they only made the balls ups in Stoke's area count- a more ruthless side would have run up a cricket score.

Another lethargic outing like today will cost us heavily. No forecast because this is Rovers- play like drains and we lose, play to our potential and we win. No idea how motivated we will be.
Mowbray needs to pick an XI with real desire to win.

We have to start playing 3 CB and 2 wingbacks every game. That is abundantly clear to me. Tosin hopefully steps up. We need 3 strong CBs heading out balls and doing the basics. If we have to rely on Bennett to cover we will go nowhere, he missed his man for the first goal vs Luton and is just hopeless in those situations.

We don’t have the players for 3 at the back. Any team playing like that need CBs who have plenty of pace and are very comfortable on the ball technically...we don’t have them.

Can actually see us winning this because they'll come here to have a go. 3-1 Rovers

Definitely need to change things but will Mowbray that's the question. Need to play like the first ten mins of yesterday over a longer period if that's possible

Having seen their highlights from the Stoke game I'm expecting to concede at least one here, if not two, I'll go 2-2, bit more of an open game and I think we could score a few - but got a feeling the Luton result will kick off a blip in the defence.

Mowbray's 'game plan' is to try and catch the opposition out early doors before they can settle down. On rare occasions it works e.g. Leeds last season but more often than not it doesn't. We then fail to sustain it and quickly run out of ideas as the opposition settle down and deal with our 'threats' with relative ease. Hence we usually go in at half time with 0 goals.

As somebody else said Forest will come fancying their chances so maybe it'll be a more open game. We've no idea how to break down teams that " park the bus " but we do better against teams who come to play.

Take out that 15 min debacle at WBA, the other four games we have scored in first we have won, and all four games we have lost we have conceded first.

We seem to be a very different side when we get in front, the likes of Cunningham, Downing, Johnson have definitely improved us in seeing games out, we just have very few ideas of how to get back into games when we go behind.

Why do a section of most opposition fans think that we are a dirty team? I just don't see it.

Maybe we are more professional and streetwise than what we used to be but we are not a dity team, no way.

Other than that cant see it, poor ref against stoke made a few strange decisions.

Can you remember the Villa home game last season? It was men v boys. They did a right professional job on us. Bullied us, had quality when it was needed but after getting ahead they sat on the game, and went away with a win. It was a thoroughly professional performance. I think an approach like that, which I've seen we're beginning to develop, comes across to partisan fans as being 'dirty'.

I think we are a niggly team, I don't have an issue with it, too often we have previously allowed teams to build momentum in games because we are too nice.
