He watched all our goals not games?

Games was what I was told. His mind on certain players like Pantilimon for example was already made up from day one of accepting the job.

100% won’t be.
they play Villa on the Sunday, then us in the Tues and Man Utd on the Saturday.
gives us a fighting chance

There was no chance of them fielding a first team in the EFL cup whatever their fixtures. Arsenal under Wenger were the club who began the trend of putting out youth teams in the cup.

Mind you, we won’t be putting out a first team either with our fixture congestion.

Will be their 3rd game in 5 days - they have an away European game on the previous Thursday.

Sunday 15th September PREMIER LEAGUE Watford 16:30 Arsenal

Thursday 19th September EUROPA LEAGUE GROUP F Eintracht Frankfurt 17:55 Arsenal

Sunday 22nd September PREMIER LEAGUE Arsenal 16:30 Aston Villa Tuesday 24th September

EFL CUP THIRD ROUND Arsenal 19:45 Nottingham Forest Monday 30th September

PREMIER LEAGUE Manchester United 20:00 Arsenal

5 fixtures for Arsenal in 15 days, 3 are away, they also have another Europa game not long after the Man U game, with all the fixtures involved in the Europa league as well and other focus, i think we have a real chance, would love us to really go serious about this, i'm hoping to be there though i'm way, way, way on down the pecking order, i mean way way down where the fires blaze, down, down, way, way on down, if anyone could get us a ticket please

I reckon this Arsenal game is there for the taking if we want it badly enough.

I reckon you are right Jasper. It certainly comes at a good time for us looking at Arsenals fixtures either side of the match.

It is a superb analysis from ForestBoffin, explains exactly what SL is trying to achieve, the strengths and weaknesses and what is actually happening. Its funny how many people still assume we play a 4231 when we clearly dont!

The true test will be from now on.

IMO Preston demonstrated to all the other teams how Sabri's system could be nullified. If other clubs approach it in the same way then we'll struggle, unless he can adapt it. Boffin does say though that he considers the players are still learning the system. We've looked decent so far - if the players play the system even better then good things await.

Not all teams have Alex Neill as manager and are as good as Preston.

Having 2 weeks now to work with the players will help a lot, some of the players arrived very late in the window and the matches were coming thick and fast, this is really the first time Sabri has had a chance to work on things and get his ideas across.
