Joe Worrall is slow, physically weak for a centre back, not dominant in the air and a poor distributor. I am intrigued to know what his strengths are and what he brings to the team which are greater than other centre backs at the club.

Are you on a wind up pal?
He is not physically weak, he often dominates in the air and his passing accuracy has been backed up with stats earlier on in the thread. The bloke is Lamouchi's first choice for a reason, or do you know better than Lamouchi?
He's also captained England under 20's and been the subject of a 10m bid from a PL club.

Sorry but he is physically weak for a centre back. Patrick Bamford was holding him off the ball on Saturday and he certainly not known for his physicality. Joe Worrall is poor in the air. Robinson who is much shorter wins more headers. How many headed goals can you remember our 6 ft 4 centre back scoring.

He is not there to score goals, he is there to defend which he does very well, get blocks in which he does very very well, read the game which he also does very well and anticipate the play which he is also very good at.
Why do you think he is in the team hobbits?

I know that you are trying to pick a fight here but just for the record. Worrall wins just as many headers as Dawson and more than double as many as Robinson. THAT IS A FACT!

Whilst I am all for opinions and debate, surely the facts suggest Joe wins his headers on the whole. To say he is poor in the air is not an opinion it is just plain wrong. Fine he is not the quickest on the turn (what centre back is?) and his distribution is up for debate. But to say he is poor in the air.... jeez, Des Walker would be murdered by jacksbadhobbits as he reckoned himself he won around 50% of headers, never once scored a header for the team and couldnt pass wind. He was still the best centre back to ever wear the garibaldi bar none.
Of course He is going to make mistakes, what player doesn't? But so far this season he has been very very good. Bamford may not be a unit, but he is strong on the ball and always has been. We should know, we developed him.

He is poor in the air in my opinion but there’s no point even trying to debate it because even if you make a credible point against Joe it’s simply ignored.

Don't the stats and the facts say otherwise though? I haven't checked to be honest but I am just going on what Garibaldi Red said.

Ok, you win, i’ll partially engage.
On Saturday he got caught under the ball three times, these weren’t cases of Leeds just playing into the channels, Joe misjudged them.
Also, we are a shambles defending set pieces. Muric is the scapegoat here prima facie but the fact is that if Joe were as good as is being lauded then we wouldn’t. There were two instances that immediately spring to mind from the Leeds game alone. One where he pulled out of a header in the six yard box which caught Bamford unawares and secondly where he completely air shot under no pressure.
He’s a decent defender, nothing more or less.
My view is subjective, just like everyone else’s, no one is necessarily right or wrong despite assertions by some to the contrary.
You’ll appreciate that I spent most of last Summer in the very small minority in relation to Brereton and that appears to have played pretty much as anticipated.

Whilst I’m in the ‘not sure he’s good enough’ camp - I believe that SL will stick with him at least for the foreseeable future.
Just don’t get how he gets in ahead of Milo - and think that Rodriguez, Daws, Figs & Benny should all be ahead of him in the pecking order.
Just my opinion - and this continues to be tested when I read the conflicting views of a number of other contributors on here who’s opinions I respect.
