For whatever reason on tuesday they just weren't at it.
I think there was a focus problem, too many off the field distractions, dinners, drinks, dancing, visit to the Acropolis etc etc.
I honestly believe that Lamouchi is delighted to be back in Nottingham where they can all focus on what they are supposed to be doing. I expect a much improved performance tomorrow against Palace.

Figs and Milo for me. Worrall makes far too many mistakes and is just not learning from them.

In all fairness to Muric, he was stood right in front of the Gate 7 Ultra's and could not be seen through the fog of red smoke down at his end of the ground. Given we were 2 down after only 7 minutes, how much of that affected his game? Just a thought :idea:

He made a huge one at alfreton to that cost us a goal, frequently made them in a far lower standard league in Scotland last year, I know a few rangers fans and not one of them would take him back.

Can I just say I really enjoy these forum topics GaribaldiRed, thanks! Your tactical insight is really detailed and whilst I’m not saying I agree with everything it’s really interesting to read and creates excellent discussion points.
Now on with the show, Milo and Figs for me, Figs will get better as he gets fitter again. Surprised Benaloune has been written off so much though thought him/Milo had a good partnership even if he was a bit of a liability

It will be interesting to see who will be the preferred pairing and hopefully that pairing will be able to play together throughout the season. Consistency and stability will be very important.

And now onto the full backs:
FBs are getting more and more important in modern football as they are getting more and more an integrated part of the attacking play. FBs should ideally have great attacking attributes in addition to great defensive attributes and in addition have the strength and stamina to run up and down the pitch for 90 minutes. It worth noting that it's getting more common to retrain wingers and midfielders to become FBs. It’s my clear understanding that the FB will be extremely important in Sari’s preferred playing style at Forest.
On the right side we only have one recognized FB and that's Darikwa. I know he has some critics among our fans, but I believe he showed steady progress last season and with the right coaching I believe he can develop even further. He definitely has some of the right ingredients to become an efficient FB. He has great pace and stamina as well as being a decent defender and passer of the ball.
It is interesting to see that Sari is trying out Cash as a FB and that could very well work as I believe Cash has the attributes as well as the intelligence to adopt to such a role. I don't believe that the Algerian right back we are linked with will be a significant improvement on Darikwa but we most likely need another FB on the right side. Let's hope that we are able to find one that will prove to be an upgrade of Darikwa. But the pace of Darikwa is and will be a great asset to the team.
On the left side Forest have two main in Robinson and the new guy Ribeiro. Robinson is a steady defender and has gotten better and better at the attacking part of the game, but he is first and foremost a defender. Great header of the ball as well and also comfortable acting as a CB.
Ribeiro has more of the attacking gene and could prove to be a very good buy. He is still young and has a lots of potential. Technical good with decent pace and a good crosser of the ball which will be important. Based on this I would very much hope that Ribeiro will adapt to English football and prove to be a big hit. He definitely has the necessary attributes. I will therefore cross my fingers and place Ribeiro on the left side of the defense.
