Reports from overseas that Soudani deal is done and dusted are just a little premature... last few bits being finalised. But it is very, very close... #nffc

More from this DZ Football Guy:

What Forest fans can expect from Soudani

Hilal Soudani has completed a medical at Nottingham Forest and signed a contract at the club, bringing his spell at Dinamo Zagreb to an end. Here’s what Forest fans can expect from their new signing.

Soudani is a versatile player. He can play on the left wing, or up front as a striker. He has also been used as a left wing-back a couple of times for the Algerian national team. Although he is not the quickest, he is a good strong aggressive player that is difficult to tackle.

He comes into the Championship with very impressive goal records, having just finished as the top scorer in Croatia. And whilst the standard of the Croatian league may not be as high as other leagues in Europe, it shows the 30-year-old has a good eye for goal nonetheless.

The majority of his goals come from inside the box. When he is up front, he will play between the width of the penalty area. As a winger, you will not see him drift out wide so much, he will try to cut inside or play balls to the overlapping full-back.

Forest are getting a talented footballer who will hit the target with most of his efforts on goal. They should be excited at this real bargain they are getting from Zagreb. Do not expect Soudani to track back. He will take risks and play on the shoulder of the defender. Hopefully he can fire Forest back where they belong into the Premier League.

And yes, it does look like there might be more than one signing completed today, if things all go as planned...

That's a sound write up on Soudani, "good strong aggressive player that is difficult to tackle."  I like that Forest are targeting 'aggressive' and intense playing styles.  Should lift the tempo and take Forest from quite and powder puff pedestrian tempo to aggressive, robust, vocal and up tempo!

Good to hear he is a bit of a fox in the box too?  Top scorer in Croatia.  Plays for the national side. (Their national side too, no mugs.) Scored plenty enough goals. He must have got something for Karanka to chase over two transfer windows.

Nobody will be 'old manning' Forest next season.

"Hopefully he can fire Forest back where they belong into the Premier League."  Amen to that.
