I am desperate for Lolley to stay but if his heart was/is set on playing for his boyhood club how could we stand in his way. If we were to sign 2 of the following 3 - Grosicki ( c.£2m ), O’Dowda ( c.£5m ), Kent ( season long loan ) - with the thick end of £8m to £10m left over to get another goal scorer etc?

How would folks feel?
if we could get 3 quality players from the sale of 1 player i think we would be foolish to turn it down. specially considering what we paid for said player first day.
Absolutely agree, sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture.
Look at Norwich and Sheff Utd.
Both sold there biggest asset financially (Maddison & Brooks).
That gave them the ££ to fill in the missing pieces

In my ideal world, you raise 10m from selling Ozzy, Karim and Soudani.

You then remove as many fringe players as poss from Hefele, Bridcutt, Watson, Yacob, Murphy, Clough, Vellios, Grant, Aryibi

Then you get the 6 players in from that.

With 10m raised, plus support from Markinkis, you keep Lolley and Carv and still have the ££ to get what you need

That would be the ideal situ IMO

Marinakis has been in Portugal where he had a long meeting with Mendes among other things.

So the usual Mendes names will be wheeled out again then. Podence, Vukcevic among them.

And Nelson Oliveira who I'd like to see back. Now way will he play again for Norwich and he's entering the last year of his contract. Bet we'd get him for next to nowt.

Good shout Pap regarding Oliveira, I don't think you need to concern yourself with Podence and Vukcevic though.

Podence turned out to be good after a slow start but there is a bit of a legal battle still going on over the transfer fee.

Vuckevic is not an Olympiakos player.

i presume the players will be going back training in the next 2-3 weeks. about 8-9 weeks left in the transfer window so should surely start seeing some business done soon. pretty sure carvalho , goncalves, figuerido were all done by 14th june last season, was in the press 1-2 weeks beforehand.

It is not just us who are having a quiet time; the whole market appears very slow - could be down to the timing of the Euro qualifiers.

It is possible that we have deals lined up but they are contingent on replacements being signed by the selling club
