Karanka v MON & Keane

No I don’t either. I reckon Karanka would have got us comfortably top 6 this season if he had stayed.

He recruited to play his way.  And it was working under the label 'slow progress' but it was there.

Sometimes you have to stick with something.

But Forest blew up again.  Only to see Steve Bruce swoop in again and over take or beat us.

The Steve Bruce vs Forest stat tells us something about the running of our club for a very long time.

It’s so obvious mate I can’t believe it even needs saying.

Exactly. Carva has played 8 under MON and scored 1.

So he's had his chances under MoN.  A myth that MoN hasn't played him?

Aye.  And Car' cost wayyyy more.

See my post above.

Had Soudani stayed fit, I think he'd have provided the balance we needed in that position.  Just typical Forest with injuries.  But you have to recruit to make sure you're not short in key areas.

Poor recruitment in the Summer balance wise.

He’s had one start against Villa, one of the best sides in the league. 10-20 min spells in games where we’re often chasing the game is not a chance at all.

When people know they have a weak argument, they tend to use a player who has had minimal starts and lots of 10 minute run outs as sub - and use the Games played (as against using the more correct minutes player) statistic to make the player look bad..

Yes, a 1 minute run out as sub counts as a game played.

So someone with 10 games played might actually have played 10 minutes in total, against another player who played 10 games (for 90 minutes each game) and played 900 minutes.

Games played 10 each, one has played 10 minutes and the other 900 minutes...……...and then you compare the games played stat...….

Its a very weak argument and its used to grab fake headlines as opposed to be of any real significance.

I was wondering would there be an increase in the moral of the players if Keane was to leave?

That may sound a bit controversial but I have been giving it some thought.

Probably you are right Boatsy.

There are definitely a lot of unhappy people around at the club right now.

Don't want to blame it on anyone but that is definitely the case.

It’s such a shame all the positivity seems to have been drained from the club in a few months.

Looks like MON is going nowhere so we best prepare ourselves for a bumpy ride.

Real worry for me is losing the handful of really talented players we have leaving us with a core squad of mediocre journeymen.

I usually start getting excited for next season as soon as I have renewed. Now all I have is a sinking feeling.

I will be there today to support the team, for once my disappointment isn’t directed at them, think they have been let down badly by the management.

Hopefully the club can turn it around somehow othwise the ad hoc ticket sales will fall dramatically next season.

I believe so yes, unless there is a dramatic turnaround in performances and results in our last 3 games.

Gives me no pleasure to say that’s a relief. What an awful end to this season, will we ever get a season we’re not glad to see the back of!

Interesting bit in the web chat, which was hinted at, was that the games are being treated like friendly games by the management team. This mentality of this game is not important will have no doubt trickled down to the players and having effect on the pitch. The mind set has become, doesn’t matter if I play well or not as next match we will be all change again and I won’t get the chance to understand and develop what they want me to do.
