Very over dramatic again GreenMan. Do you boo Yates, Murphy and Osborn? Come on, admit it...

Over dramatic?? The truth obviously hurts! Well if you’d took the time to read my previous posts you’d know I don’t. And why would I boo them?? Do you boo them?? Yates’s original job is to win the ball, anything else is a bonus. I’m not saying Yates won’t make it at this level, but at the minute I don’t think he’s quite ready to play week in week out and another loan wouldn’t do him any harm one bit. We always need a player like Murphy in our squad, but someone’s who a bit younger and dynamic. People having a go at Carvalho for being crap since December when he’s hardly started a game, please tell me someone who wasn’t signed in January who hasn’t had a dip in form since then. And for the uneducated ones who go by what Fray and Taylor say in the media instead of actually attending games there’s more to Carvalho’s game or any playmaker for that matter then just scoring goals, such as his movement off the ball to take the opposition out the way etc, his passes, his assists et etc. But it’s odviously a race thing because he ain’t British or Irish and doesn’t run around like a headless chicken a ‘putting the effort in’

The people sitting behind me every week spend the whole game either shouting abuse at Osbourn, Murphy and Pantillimon or talking about when to leave to go to the pub.

Race issue? Complete non-sense.
'Absurd' indeed. Forest sides have a history of being cosmopolitan right back(!) to Viv Anderson who was one of my favourite Forest players. Yates may not be ready to play week in week out. He's a promoted academy prospect. But like all young players, the high-octane nature of the Championship will find you out (as it has, Car'...) if you're 'too young', too old or too fragile or too tendoned...or if your knee can't take the pace. The Championship is the destroyer. It's tough and 'can play a bit.' Yates is tough and he can play a bit. But is he ready for week in, week out? That's fair debate. In that context, Car' and he have much in common. It was the same for Worrall (who's learning in the cauldron of Scottish 'old firm' football. And yes, Worrall has made 'his mistakes' up there and been panned but he's had more good matches. He's young.) For Cash (but 'bambi' has scored twice the amount of goals as Car'.) The much derided Os' (who got his kick up the backside from Dougie...) who has been the pick of a handful of managers and even MoN because his attitude is better. His ability may not be show boating or even top 2...but he'll put a shift in. As will Murphy. Who is 35 and supposed to be a 3rd super sub striker. Not a week in, week outer. There may be more to Car's game. But if the ball doesn't stick with him in his advanced roll (eg. against Villa...or mostly for any game he's played in under MoN...), he doesn't assist or doesn't score goals... The reason MoN isn't playing him, I suspect, is the ball doesn't stick with him. So payers like Yates, Colback and the defense are then under pressure and have to pick up the slack more often. He's not an ACM who is stamping his authority on the game. If so good he is, he'll play vs Rotherham and hold the ball up, assist and score a goal. And at £13.5 million. He bladdy well should do. Everybody might want that. But Aitor has gone. His way of playing is gone. (Which wasn't so hot in December...and, for the record, was NOT so hot before each international break either... Forest had a very ropey start under him and 'his' lightweight Portuguese signings.) In the Championship, you have to be tough first. Dias. No. Pulls out of tackles. Gonzo? No. Doesn't track back. (but he had the decency to get a red card and get sent off under Aitor...so, I guess he can(?) or could tackle...in a loose description of the word...) Soudani. I thought he was tough. But I guess his knee wasn't. And? Car'. Pulls out of tackles. This was the Summer recruitment of attacking signings. And? For £20 million? How did it do? How much of it is still playing or was under Aitor? The best of the bunch has been Car'...about half a year ago. That Summer is long gone. And so has his form which had evaporated long before Sherif MoN entered town. SA. |
