Richardson sounds like a very good prospect from what I have read. However I would rather us sign an experienced battle hardened right back to compete with Darikwa and drip feed Richardson into the squad for the following season.

That would not surprise me Jock. I think Kenny might be right.
A four million loss though? That is painful.

Painful yes, but if he stays for another year and his performances remain the same, then he will be worth even less. To be honest, even 7 to 9 million is quiet a good figure, and who will sign him he will be gambling on him.
I see only a Premiership team or a return back to Portugal, for a figure like that to be true. No team in the Championship or somewhere in the continent (apart from the top teams), will be willing to spend that sort of money on an unproven player. Who knows maybe he will go to Greece.

I think that would be the prudent thing to do given how this season has gone for him.

one of a long list in the past 25 years of signings which didn't work out.
i think everybody was surprised to see us splash out so much on an unknown.

9 million in MoN spend gets us what we need to get promoted. He's very canny. He's done his pre-season 'on the fly' in 'match testing' situations. He knows who can 'man up' and who hasn't got the bottle for it. And you need bottle if you're going to get our of this league. Every time we've come close to the top 6 we've bottled it. In front of full City Ground crowds or away from home.
Car' may do well in a Premiership squad where he can be developed eg. At Chelsea or wherever.
But Forest can't afford that luxury of £13.5 million being wrapped up in a single, under developed, under performing, non-Championship ready player.
Not when we need a no.1 keeper of better quality, a LB, an ACM who can, another winger and at least another striker. All of these things have dogged our progress this season.

He can't go to Greece because no Greek team can pay 7-9 million and we can't afford to just loan him to Olympiakos.

I wouldn’t sell personally, we won’t get the best value for him. I would keep him for another year and hope he improves. Not like he’s been bad so far so clearly talent is there. Not convinced we’d get more than 5 mil right now and I doubt that value will decrease so I’d stick. As long as MON intends to play him of course

We also have to take something else into consideration.
Does the player himself want to stay and fight?
Personally I am not convinced that he does, just an opinion not a fact.

Perhaps Kenny knows something that we don't?
Sniffer may have a point, does the player want to stay?
