Nothing really new about Bridcutt and Yacob Alf to be fair.

Personally I'm fine not trying anything too new whilst we're still in with a shot of the playoffs, and we are (albiet an outside one).

Appiah on the bench? Maybe. But with Cash coming back I wouldn't have him in the first team.

Folk judging Pele on 2 performances too lol. After Hull it was "Pele is brilliant! why hasn't MON been starting him?!?" FFS lol.

I mean we understand the clamour to get players like bridcutt yacob and even Murphy after Villa. These players are not going to make much of an impact compared to who they’d be replacing so why the despearation for them to play.

In fact in bridcutt/yacob they’ve not played for ages so will not be match fit would be oddto throw them in now.

I don't think there is any desperation to throw them in.
More a question of why they have not been invloved under MON.
They are both fit enough because they have turned out for the under 23's and are training every day.

It's a fair point I think.

Both Yates and Pele have struggled a bit in their last 2 games.

I’ve heard their names bandied around across multiple threads/posters. Just seemed odd, both solid players but unlikely to have a major impact on the current side.

Those struggles were in part due to the tactics which will be less of an issue now Robinson and cash are back

That's a sound observation, Username.  Why?

Because Watson was 'holding' BUT he was guiding Yates in each match they played together.  'Experience.'

Not sure Pele has had the same influence on Yates.

Watson has his critics.  And we know why.  He's old.  So is Dawson, whose last injury seems to have done for him in a Forest shirt.  (Hope not.)  But I feel he brought more out of young Yates.  In a kind of Des Walker and Dawson kind of way.  I feel Watson has enough in the tank to sit in front of the back four, he doesn't have to have the legs there...just 'ave it' launch any ball or player out of the way.  Let Yates and Colback be the legs.

Watson is vocal and experienced enough to help Yates in that way.  I don't get vibe from Pele or Colback who have it all on looking after their own games.

That's what Watson does bring.  Leadership.  It's a pity we don't have time machines to go back in time and test a different set of players vs the opposition.  'If only...' and 'What if...'

I think so.  For all the critics Watson has, could he have done any worse sitting in front of the back four?  Villa went straight through our midfield...and through Colback and Pele.  

If they had got past Colback, I'd like to think Watson 'av it' would have punted McGinn up into the air.  I'm not advocating we do that...just suggesting that Watson may have used less refinement in interrupting McGinn's progress...
