Except from Coventry at Home we've been good value to get something from every game but we haven't. We've missed the most big chances in the league which is 17, We've created joint 2nd most big chances in the league with 21 but someone only scored 4 of them. Only Arsenal have conceded more XG then us. We are currently 3rd in the XG table expected to be on 10pts. 6th in expected goals with 10.6 meaning we are underperforming by 5.6 goals.
We should've had Liverpool away wrapped up in the first half, Villa away wrapped before they equalised but obviously we won in the end. Palace away we should've been 3/4-0 up at HT but managed to lose. A wall splitting and goalkeeping error costs us a point v Leeds and Tottenham at Home we have a goal controversially ruled out in a game where we conceded 0 shots on target.
But I have one slight worry on the underperformance in front of goal Palace in the least two seasons created 58xg but only scored 41 goals and then the season before they created 61xg and scored 51 goals. So they've underperformed by 27 goals in 2 seasons. A pattern is emerging here already with us underperforming by 5 goals in 6 games. So this needs to change quickly.
But I think this season we hover around midtable because I do believe there will be some games where we demolish some teams. I think it can happen very soon as well.
I agree, for me the frustration is less so the outcome but more the knowledge that due to the tough upcoming games the team and Glasner will be under so much pressure that we may need see the positive effects shown above when some of these stats regress to the mean and we win some games. I think it's frustrating as this is clearly an improvement on previous years and potentially a high enough level to get us into a decent final position yet I fear we might not get to see that maximised. Just got to hope the club/fans are willing to stay the course through the tougher games if results inevitably don't improve.
Also, hope that Delap can score a few to build his confidence as he will be key to those chances actually being taken. At least N'Doye took his first chance well...

Syrianos own words from a meeting with some supporters last week was we will stick with Glasner through the good and bad. Should be here for at least 2 seasons. Can't keep changing now especially when we fought a lot to get him.

Hahahahaha,
Honest to fuck its October. Personally I'm hoping he'll se we play better as a 4231 with Sangare involved as Schlager ain't cutting the mustard at the moment.

Oh yes apologies if that came over as gloomy, I fully accept we are still as likely to be in a battle for European places as relegation places with only 6 games gone. Just a hypothetical thought.
Agree with you on Sangare but don’t tnink we will play with a 4231 anytime soon.

I'm firmly in same boat as you, I just don’t trust that the combination of fan pressure and media pressure won't make it too difficult to ride out a slow start points wise.
The league is tight though, outside of the Arsenal and City games we can still beat anyone and even then we've beaten those guys too.

Thank F##k social media wasnt around in 1975, Cloughie would have been sacked before he’d got us sorted, we’d still have zero history, would have spent 50 yrs in the lower leagues and wouldnt have forums as nobody would be interested !
I just cant believe sone of the negativity

Im too young to remember but Im willing to bet that in 1975 Mick from Hucknall was writing to the Evening Post demanding in the strongest terms that Clough was removed.

Yes he should have just cushioned the ball in hindsight but he hit it really well and on target, it was actually an unbelievable save. Its not as if he spooned it over the stand. Seen plenty better strikers miss chances like that, give the lad a break. If our defending had been up to scratch it wouldn’t have mattered.
N’Doye has two goals this season and gets no love from our support, in fact he can make one mistake and be the devil incarnate but others are allowed to do little to nothing and get more love.

Lets not forget this lad cost us £40m and we've had 3 prem goals from him amd maybe 2 or 3 decent performances. Criticism of him has been entirely justified imo. Hopefully he's turned a corner now though. Fingers crossed.

Just having a further look into Glasner's two full seasons at Palace.
24/25 - 106 Big Chances, 74 missed - 32/106 - 30.1% conversion rate
25/26 - 98 Big Chances, 66 missed - 32/98 - 32.6% conversion rate
Whereas Forest in them seasons.
24/25 - 78 Big Chances, 48 missed - 30/78 - 38.5% conversion rate
25/26 - 69 Big Chances, 39 missed - 30/69 - 43.5% conversion rate
We only missed 39 Big Chances in a whole season, We've already missed 17 in 6 games. So whoever we play against I don't think it matters who we play we will end up scoring lots of goals.
