I thought EM was desperate to have a greek national in the team?

Im assuming this bloke is better than Vlachodimos, he may not be. But if he is why are we unable to sign an Oly palyer? Sorry I dont buy this argument that it looks too dodgy or that Oly fans wont stand for it. If the player is good enough (again I accept he may not be good enough) then why isnt he coming to Forest?
Or can we only buy players to loan to them or sign the crap ones?

Oly just means a lot more he has the ear of the fans in a way this doesn’t happen in English football I’d guess

The Greek reporter who covers Oly a lot was tweeting about this to someone today and Oly fans not standing for it was exactly the reason he gave. He reckoned that Tzolakis is one of Oly's best ever players (I have no idea on that) and as such there was no way EM would sell him to Forest and have Oly been seen as our feeder club.

It doesn't in so much as none of our best players go to Oly, but yes there are the Forest-funded transfer and loans like the Gustavo Sa one.

Though presumably the loan fee that Oly pay covers part of all of that. Who knows?

I sort of see it, but then when they lose said player to a Forest rival in the EPL then it must illustrate the flow anyway. At least if it is between the clubs there is some mutual benefit.
I suppose you have to ask whether we was in the Championship how we'd have felt if they took Lolley, Grabbs etc

To be fair, we've only had a look at Victor over half a dozen games or so so it's probably unfair to judge him yet. And this Oly keeper might not fancy sitting on our bench as an understudy.

But in wider terms I'm getting the impression that EM is under pressure to act in a way that demonstrates to UEFA that the two clubs don't operate as a linked multi-club. As such transfer and loan fees between the clubs might need to have fair market valuations, and we might be just not wanting to expend our psr allowance on this keeper. We also have limited squad places available so any player incoming from Oly invariably comes at the cost of another signing not being possible.

Agree with the second paragraph re fair market values. We do need another keeper though and one that puts real pressure on Sels, pointless having a bench warmer. Ive seen enough of Victor to make my mind up.

But any keeper who's good enough to be capable of putting Sels under pressure for his place is invariably going to be a very good keeper in his own right and one who could probably play as a no1 at a pretty high level in another decent country. Our bench just isn't going to be attractive enough for those kind of players. We're not Man Utd who presumably are giving Darlow shedfulls of cash to do it (and I'd argue anyway that Darlow isn't capable of putting Sels under pressure, but that's a different argument).
