Chelsea fans are the luckiest fans alive. They're cemented in the protections provided by the 'big 6', and always will be now as the game is. And yet they're nowhere near any of the other 5 big clubs in terms of historical football greatness or football worthiness. I'd put them on a par with West Ham and Sunderland in terms of ranking.

Thing is City were relative small fry until Saudi dollar. That's the issue I have with these rules, it should have been Newcastle's turn etc. spurs haven't done anything in my lifetime either.

Gone are the days now when a good coach could be at a middling club, get a group of players to exceed themselves and win a league. I know Leicester did it but they did so because all of the other top clubs didnt show up that year.

Emery and Villa were nearly there but the rules are making them go backwards now. I wonder in a few years if Villa might rue that game against Spurs which could have relegated them.

The bin robbers winning the title was a freak season, some teams in transition and Spurs were their main competition before they managed to finish third in a two horse race. It was more of miracle than ours, because they weren't exceptional. I know a couple of people who started supporting them 2/3 through that season, and now they're back supporting the scouse again.
