Haven’t seen any of the yellows so unsure, the momentum map shows they weren’t really in charge of the game until the sending off

Both 100% yellows but this new "mistaken identity" rule hasn't actually been mentioned by FIFA before.

Switzerland were easily the better team before the yellow and that's without their best player Manzambi. Argies are there for the taking.

Side point, N'Doye had a great game. Maybe there's still a player in there? Or at least restored some of his value. Man of the match (pre red card) in a World Cup QF vs Argentina is impressive.

There you go - football talk.

Probably doesn’t want to get embarrassed by his club mate. On the subject of who may or may not play. Does anyone else find it bizarre that our press keep leaking stuff around who might or might not be playing? I mean hardly helpful is it!

And wasn't he just. He's just not aggressive enough to deal with a centre forward like Haaland, spent far too much time being bullied

it was supposed to be for if the referee books the wrong person. But in the USA's first game there was controversy as a yellow given against a US player was rescinded, and a yellow was given to a player who dived. Because that is not strictly what the rule describes, how ever just the outcome feels.

It was the same scenario here, and on reading about it I thought it sounded odd they've done it again for another of the favoured sides. But having seen it later, the guy deserved all he got, the yelp, the rolls etc.

But part of me wonders if that had been the other way around, would they have given a second yellow to an Argentine player on VAR review that doesn't quite fit the rule?

France currently laying a massive egg in the semi-final. 2-0 down and a tight offside away from it being 3.

If we can get past the Argies tomorrow I just cant see us beating Spain. Its almost impossible to get the ball back if you lose it. Amd they've got their swagger back it seems.

That was superb from Spain, if they play like that they look almost impossible to beat.

And just like that, that utterly brilliant French team are out. They never laid a glove on Spain who were superb.

While France were tearing up the tournament these last few weeks, Spain have quietly gone about their business.

Sort of, they ground out two last minute winners from Merino in previous rounds in tight games and drew with Cape Verde.

They're very good but not unbeatable.

Although pretty sure Yamal hasn't lost a major tournament game yet...
