Strange VAR intervention for Switzerland v Argentina for mistaken identity. Probably the correct result but if its an argentinian diving do you think thats given? Also where does this end? Its a bad dive but players dive continually, usually less clear cut decision, is VAR going to look at every yellow card now?

On the same matter should Spence’s overturned penalty have been given? It wasn’t a dive and it wasnt a clear error by the ref to give it either. In the PL I suspect that one is given roughly 50% of the time and another of those subjective ones we can argue all day long. The inconsistency is maddening.

I'll take the world cup var/refereeing over our premier league crap any day.

I also like the 2 yellows gets a ban rule. It means players are more careful and refs not so inclined to get the card out.

I agree with that Pap, mostly its been better overall, particularly the refs. Just wish we could get these refs for the PL and leave them to do their job without interference.

By the way, I owe Djed an apology, said he was never international class after the Ghana game. He’s definitely proved me wrong last night, immense performance.
