Going back to Vitor, one thing I would say, I did not think this group were capable of playing the way they have played in the last month or so. Fenerbache away, Midtyland away, Sunderland away, Spurs away, Chelsea away, are just a level we have not reached under any previous manager this year, aside from that first half vs Brentford and that first half vs Betis.

The consistency has been impressive and the pressing and attacking threat we have offered is not something we offered too much even last year. Maybe you could say the last few games have just been a regression to the mean in terms of taking chances and Wood being back but I certainly didn't think we were capable of this. Particularly without Elanga and CHO. 9 games unbeaten first time since 2016 or something?

All the more impressive because we are in the middle of an intense relegation battle and having to rotate for the Europa league/play way more minutes than the other teams. The away game in Denmark and yesterday games stand out due to the changes and what we got out of previously Diakhaby level players like Bakwa, is incredible. Obviously not forgetting how well we played against Sunderland too. Can we please keep this ride going for 5 more games? Pretty please?

As for Edu, hopefully this is just a retrospective discussion for the summer. Results and performance have certainly improved with Vitor, im not surprised there is much hard work and analysis behind the friendly smiles. But is it coincidence that Edu was removed from the scene around the same time? Theres not much case for bringing him back IMO.

Its hardly inspirational genius to target younger players with resale value. But that can bring its own problems, we have ground out this season 90% with the team from last season. The ultimate example of it going wrong is the team we have just thumped 0-3. Discuss specifics later but end on a positive, Dilane Bakwa after the Braga game I was convinced was Diakhaby v2. Bit early to say he is a world beater but Vitor has 100% got some useful contributions from him and it was wonderful to see him turning Cucurella (a player I despise) inside out on Sunday. Hope he can keep it up.

I'm certainly much more comfortable with this as an explanation for the drop off rather that the usual tripe.

In terms of the summer signings, i'm not getting giddy off the back of 2 good games from Bakwa all season. If he can back it up with the assistance of this coaching team then we will of course all be delighted its not £35m wasted. Same goes for NDoye, McAtee etc.

It also doesnt address the significant disruptive influence the appointment was and the lack of providing any real cover at full back or in goal.

Agree about Bakwa. He had a good start against Cucurella but the Spaniard soon got to grips with him I thought. And I thought Abbott was left exposed a lot against their young winger who went off with the head injury. So I'll remain cautiously optimistic, but only that.

But as this is strictly the Vitor only thread, I'll say that both Bakwa and Hutchinson have clearly been coached a lot in the last few weeks with both now prepared to take the full back on on the outside rather than continually taking the safe option and cutting in.

Quickly came to terms after he created two goals for us? I'll take that every week.

Has anybody taken note that the improvement in Forest started when CHO and N'Doye were injured and not played since, ment that we went 2 up front and the rest is history as they say. It will be very difficult for these 2 players to be part of the side going forward unless they adapt, not sure if they can.

Ha as much as you're welcome to take a victory lap, don't forget the main reason we have been able to do this is the return to fitness of Wood, who was instrumental in the Sunderland and Villa games. (Jesus didn't play up front on Sunday)

It does make you wonder how it would have looked if Jesus had been paired with Taiwo earlier though. Particularly as he's looking pretty spry right now!

Never in my wild dreams Wassy did I think that Vitor could do what he has done.

He has been sensational and a breath of fresh.

Totally and thats why I was reluctant to change from a manager who despite playing terrible football had a reputation of keeping teams afloat. I wasn’t convinced Vitor on paper looked a better bet. Very very happy to be proved wrong.

A few bumps along the way and we aren’t there yet but the improvement is vastly better than I could have imagined.

I wonder if Vitor will be able to get a tune out of carmo and Silva.

Would certainly save us a few bob.

Was also massively necessary given the form of Leeds, Spurs and West Ham. Even just without these last two wins we'd be level with West Ham!

Ooof. Although I'd be the same, his comments after (that I've read on the BBC live text) seem a bit salty. Didn't think he'd be like that.

I think the only major mistake the guy has made since he came in was bringing our main players on at half time vs Chelsea. At 2 - 0 up, I'd have given the starting 11 anther 10 minutes to see how it went. Ultimately, MGW getting injured really affected us tonight I think. He's by far our most important player and I desperately hope we can keep him next season.

I think we should be giving VP a go next season. Let's try and do some sensible business this summer and hopefully kick on with no relegation worries please!!! Cup run would be nice.....

I would probably thank him for saving us (assuming he does) and pay him off if we can get someone like silva or similar. I’m not sure he has what it takes to take us to the level Mr M expects to get to. Might be a knee jerk after tonight but I’m not sure he is a top 10 premier league coach. Maybe the recent form coincided with Mgw purple patch and woody coming back.

I like VP, and thank him for what he did. But if we have a difficult or patchy start next season then it could quickly turn into a wasted season.

Find someone with prem experience who could take us higher and trust them with the transfer war chest.

Just my opinion.
