Dyche would have taken Wood off and stuck Jesus on like for like. Periera put both on and shifted MGW over. It was beautiful.
To be fair Dyche never even had the option.
True.
But he did have the option of Kalimuendo which Vitor has never had.
And Dyche's solution was to bring the italian lump in.

Yes it was unfortunately.

To be fair Lucca was extremely highly regarded not long ago- I thought it was a bit of a coup to get him in

Lucca has 5 senior caps for Italy and we were desperately short of a CF with Wood out and Jesus not scoring. We wanted 2 CFs, one loan and one for a fee. We never landed the fee, for a loan Lucca was as good as you will get on paper. Doubt it was all down to Dyche even though some want to blame him for all life's problems. I remain pissed off that none of the previous 3 managers ever once tried to pair Jesus and Kalimunedo.
However as said previously well done to Vitor for changing things when they weren't working because Dyche's main issue was he stubborn refusal to adapt in any way. What we tried 2nd half wont work in every game but I really like how is prepared to mix things up.

I've no axe to grind with Dyche. I rated him before he came to us and still think he can do a good job for a club in the future. But to hear him say everything was in control and he would've kept us up no prob is simply not right. The eye test said otherwise and the fact is the greater his influence became on the side, the worse we got.
After what we witnessed yesterday, if Pereira was in charge for the Wolves home game, or the Everton home game, who reckons the second half of both of those games would have panned out as they did? Vitor made the kind of crucial intervention you'd expect a top coach to be able to make. He didn't just send them back out with a message of work harder and run harder.

Oh absolutely Pap agree with all of that. I remain on the fence as to whether Dyche would have kept us up, maybe but would he have changed the outcome yesterday, I doubt it.

Agreed, each passing games is showing that these players are capable of things like that first half. Was it the changes, or momentum of the first goal. Hauling Bakwa was certainly a huge positive.

The results have improved a little, 7 unbeaten in all comps and 5 unbeaten in the league including Villa and Man City.
That said for me, the main difference is just the overall performance level has gone up. Not that we've necessarily maintained that level in every game but I think that is to be expected given the rotation/extra Europa matches. He's tinkered regularly with tactics both pre game and in game which is also great to see and something that neither Dyche or Nuno did really aside from bringing a 3rd CB on.
I still feel like that performance in Denmark and what he got out of that team was the most impressive performance and gave us real momentum.
Side point on the Dyche v Vitor, why did Dyche pick Morato over Cunha? Cunha has just looked so comfortable whenever played under Vitor, maybe you could say it's easier playing CB in a back 3 rather than a 4 but he just looks clearly better than Morato in all areas. Was one of those things that most fans were getting frustrated by when Morato was making mistakes and it seems like that was correct.
(I fear we may see both Morato and Cunha on Friday)

At the risk of being seen as someone regularly defending Dyche, the only argument for Morato is in a relegation fight do you go with the older player with PL experience or gamble on the 20 YO? Its a gamble Vitor is benefitting from, certainly.
On that point, I'm very much with Salv, Dyche does what Dyche does, the stick he's getting seems a little bit much a times given his record whilst uninspiring was certainly not in the same bracket as Chris Hughton which many compare him to. I think you're right Wassy, Vitor certainly seems to have them playing better at times but the same failings all season have been there for all managers, finishing and sometimes throwing in sub-par performances like the first half vs Burnley.

Who knows, but as long as we stay up, Vitor has done the job he was asked to do.

A bit too early for that conversation.
