Yes it is. Just goes to show sometimes you need to give a player time.

Is he the saviour? For me he is an important cog in our current team. Sangare in the team allows Anderson to play further up the field and with more freedom and means we don’t have the large gaps between midfield and up front like we saw v West Ham. We’ve really missed him especially with Yates also being injured.

When Sangare comes back in the side V Arsenal, who's dropping out then? Dominguez? Does Dom go back out to the wing and CHO drop to the bench? Dom was the best player v West Ham and CHO was the best player V Wrexham. Or is it Hutchinson who misses out? He's been a real goal threat ever since he came in. He probably does need a rest though because he's been making a few errors of late. Or does Anderson get rested? Do his performances of late suggest he needs dropping?

Agree to a point and he is an important cog but still isnt quite the dynamic midfielder we thought we were buying, thats why we went for Luiz last summer.
Its taken Ibra over 2 years to come good and justify the huge outlay and Im delighted he has. But can we afford to do the same with everyone we bring in?

Players from outside the UK take time to settle, new country, language, climate, and a completely different pace to the English game.

Amazes me how folk lose their S**t when players don’t immediately hit the ground gunning.

Judge Ndoye, Bakwa, Savona, Cunha next season

I agree. So in addition lets not blame the manager when they aren’t firing either?

The manager is from the UK.

He even lives in Nottingham and knows the club, city, language and PL etc.

I fail to see the comparison with our manager and the players Reds73 mentioned above.

Isn’t the point though that if it takes these players time to settle and perform that we shouldn’t be blaming the manager for not getting the best out of them in that same timeframe?

That's a fair comment Bomber.

Honestly, I think we are all just frustrated and we are all looking for someone to blame.

I still think we massively overachieved last season which isn't helping our current plight this season either.

Yes agree he perhaps isn’t however having him in the side allows Ando more freedom and therefore makes us a better team. Luiz we hoped we’d get the Villa version but sadly we have the Juve version. He is undoubtedly a quality player but struggling with fitness and whilst he looks very tidy on the ball, doesn’t give us the presence we need.

I wrote this in the other thread but it links to the very valid point R73 makes about players settling. I feel really sorry for Douglas Luiz, he looked absolute quality when he first played, genuine Rolls Royce of a player as good as anyone I have ever seen play for us. Unfortunately injury meant that quality was all too brief and I think the way he is being utilised as a 2nd half sub, cup games etc shows that the club have decided we don’t want to activate his obligation to buy.
That must be a really difficult situation for Douglas himself, he doesn’t know where he will be next year, will he have to uproot his family again etc. A big ask for him to produce his best when he doesn’t have a long term commitment here coupled with doubts he will have around his fitness and what it means for his career. I admit £100k/wk eases the pain somewhat but you get the point.

To be fair to Dyche, Luis is no good to him if he's continually injured, or the medical staff are saying he's at risk of being injured. How can he rely on him?
Reply
Yes I agree. Im saying Im pretty sure it is a club decision (not Dyche) not to play him. It’s sensible but it also means its harder for the player.
