May 2026 Where Will We Finish And What Will Happen Next

I am going for a 14th place finish.

What I am thinking is would a 14th place finish guarantee Sean, Woany and Stoney another crack the following season?

Personally I think it should but it's not my decision.

If they'd been here from the start of the season - no.

From the position they walked into - definitely yes.

What is your prediction of where we will finish SR?

14th sounds about right. We're behind the curve a bit but we should be able to overtake the likes of Fulham and West Ham and the promoted sides (maybe not Sunderland).

Four points from the last two games was a good haul. Need to be more solid away from home now.

I agree with you that 14th from the position that we were in when Sean took over would be a respectable finish.

Chuck a good long run in the Europa League into the mix as well then surely that would be enough for Sean to see off the threat of Marco Silva in the summer (if he doesn't sign a new contract at Fulham).

I reckon 14th or 15th with about 43 points

Question is though, is silva really that good?, on the slump with Fulham, failed at hull and watford Everton was like Fulham, hit and miss.. I think we give dyche a fair crack and build and go from there. Would be great to win europa and get in another competition, because it wont happen for a couple years again I dont think

14th is fine and quarter finals of Europa please too.

Agree with previous comments that he needs to show he can work with the squad and develop players, I reckon he can.

The question mark is probably how he gets along with EM. I don’t think Silva is any better at all but just wonder if his relationship with the owner may be more straightforward.

He’s going to need to be able to develop the young South American players we bring in. This is a market that we target and will continue to target.

At Everton they weren’t able financially to bring in players who needed time to develop, and Burnley was a different project altogether.

Nuno and the Portuguese staff bonded really well with the young South Americans.

I’m not saying Dyche won’t or can’t, but I reckon that will need to be a consideration

Yes it's a very good point Reds73.

We're only 3 points off 14th now. If we win 2 in a row at some point we're probably above 14th.

Ever the optimist I'm going 12th. Min.

And quarter finals of the Europa.

I wonder where everyone would've predicted if we'd done this last Thursday!

Fwiw, I'm going to remain optimistic and say 10th but only a few points above 15th.
