Coming for crosses has never been his strong point. Hes looking like the Sels that the Newcastle fans were laughing at when we signed him. Wonder if Dyche dare drop him? That goal was something you'd see on the local park.

For John?
I don’t know much about him but it’s a hell of a gamble.
Surely better to get this weakness in Sel’s game sorted along with the rest of the work needed on set pieces generally

John is an experienced keeper whos played a lot of games. If hes not capable of stepping up then why's he here?

Some keepers prefer to deal with it themselves, they tend to think they will get protection from the referee anyway.

I seem to remember Sels tipping over directly from a corner on near post again Porto also. Wonder if there is something that has been identified to try

If I were the opposition I'd be sticking the ball right in on top of him, every time. He's always struggled with this part of the game.

Lets give Dyche some time to see if he can fix this, this is after all one of his strengths as a manager.
He's got a week now without a game, chance to work on set pieces. Remember we had one of the best records at set pieces last year including Sels.

And we had the worst the season before. Clearly its something that needs to be constantly worked on by this set of players. They're not naturally good at this part of the game.

Did seem to improve when Milenkovic came in at least, we know we can play at that level. Not sure it's a strength for Murillo though. I'm backing Dyche on this one, if he gets the chance long term.

We have retained the same set piece coach we have had for that last few years, time for a change? There must be better out there?

If I was Angus Gunn I would be fuming.
A good solid international goalkeeper not on the bench for a keeper no one has seen play.

John has played games for Botofogo and Santos in Brazil and a handful in the spanish 2nd division. He's not a nobody rookie.
