Nuno Espirito Santo
Disappointed that Nuno did not get chance to take this team into Europe but not surprised and I think he left Marinakis with no choice at the end of the day. Shame it ended this way... But we move on and hope the next man can elevate us even further

I never thought I’d see the day again that we’d beat Liverpool away, beat United and Spurs home and away, beat City and qualify for Europe. Beyond my dreams.

But post March, our form was awful. Leicester at home was almost unforgivable (not sure I’ll ever fully recover from that shock). The outbursts in the media. Seemingly downing tools vs West Ham. There was just no coming back from that.

I truly gutted, but not surprised.

Thank you, Nuno.

Yes it is a shame but not surprising at all.  It was coming and everyone knew it even if they did not want to admit it to themselves.

Think this sums it up for me. There's also the way he created a great atmosphere in the changing room that you then saw on the pitch and got the supporters involved. Alot of talk of 'family' etc. Togetherness.

Hard when that breaks up

Thanks for the memories, and welcome the new guy.......lets go beat Arsenal now.

Yeah what a let down, can't believe he couldn't quite take a team that finished 17th the previous season into the top 5, just didn't have it I guess.

:Funny:

Why not do this straight after the last match? Very odd timing. Thanks for everything anyway Nuno. Onto the next one.

Because they will wait to have the next man lined up…… irrespective of what gets reported

Hmm suppose so. Just seems a wasted week.

From our semi-informed stance of behind the scenes tensions this seemed inevitable. Looking at the media the rest of the football world is looking and thinking the club has shot itself in the foot, most as usual pointing the finger of blame at Marinakis. Many think we will now implode, lets see.

Thanks for the memories Nuno, did a lot of good, you built a lot of respect last season.

Not sure if it's been posted but watching Sky Sports News and they reckon the clear-the-air meeting never took place.

Its not like us fans got the guy sacked, as say West Ham fans got rid of Moyes. We're going to have to trust in Marinakis to get this right.

I was really pro Nuno until someone posted his last 6(?) months of stats up. They're absolutely terrible so its no surprise hes gone. He found a formula to win games last season but when that was sussed and the players couldn't sustain the levels there was nothing else.

Tbf UCL tension was the players issue, don't think Nuno did alot wrong in terms of team selection etc. that Brentford result also looks better now they're not 'relegation certs'.

I think it's more politics than performance imo
