I see lots of Arsenal fans moaning about Edu on Twitter (not the most reliable place for informed opinions I know) so I thought I'd look at their league positions in the last few years. He joined them as Technical Director in 2019/20 and was made Sporting Director in November 2022. Their league positions in the last 10 seasons have been:

15/16 - 2nd
16/17 - 5th
17/18 - 6th
18/19 - 5th
19/20 - 8th
20/21 - 8th
21/22 - 5th
22/23 - 2nd
23/24 - 2nd
24/25 - 2nd

So in the two full seasons he was in the role they finished 2nd. Obviously that's not all down to him but his record there doesn't seem to warrant the scorn he gets.

Edu may be a legend in Arsenal but from my Forest perspective he's been in the job 5 minutes and already managed to piss off the most successful manager we've had in a generation. As far as I'm concerned I couldn't care less what he did at Arsenal, he's starting off with a blank slate here and his reputation needs to be earned.

I don't buy this theory that these super agents are entrenched at our club and are somehow pulling the strings and tearing us apart. I think it's stuff that the media churns out without any foundation. This particular story was reported by Daniel Taylor, who always seems to surface when there's a whiff of Forest bother in the air. He's a trouble causer imo.

Daniel Taylor is a very respected journalist and you can’t argue that he is a fan. I think the best media always stays objective - he lets emotions get in the way as a fan when reporting on us - as would all of us on here in the same position. He has also been used by people at forest in the past to quell stories and deflect but when reporting other things has put him out at times… jizz horncamp!!!

DT called Fawaz very early on, and was spot on. I wonder if that's a factor in the mind set he's had around EM
