I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories but it is interesting that this has come to light now, before the 'grudge' match against Palace and just as we're on a high after the Douglas Luiz signing.

My guess/hope is just that it's just the response to that interview, just reasserting who's in charge, tit for tat.

The more I think about this the less I think anything will happen.

EM held off sacking Cooper longer than anyone expected and in the end almost too long because he knew how much the fans loved him. In the end few of the fans could've argued it wasn't the right time to get rid.

The fans love Nuno at least the same if not more and results-wise it makes no sense to sack him. Yes the end to last season was poor but the result and performance (1st half particularly) on Sunday were exceptional.

Does EM throw away all that goodwill and stability off the back of one interview? Even given his reputation I just don't see it.

Unrelated but the Cooper situation was very different. There were 2 separate occasions after significant defeats when the press were briefed directly by the club that he would be replaced imminently. Neither happened.

This feels different and comes from a foreign journo unlikely he has info directly from Forest. There may be the odd disagreement behind the scenes but there seems no logic or precipitating factor.
