Morgan Gibbs-White

Exactly mate. I think what we do know is someone on the other side of the deal screwed up or he would be a Spurs player.

But after that the player and club have dealt with it professionally. We've seen some of the best players in the world at much bigger clubs do the same (ISH) thing. Rooney and Ronaldo at United and Stevie G when he was considering Chelsea. It must happen all the time

Find it strange that MGW has not put anything forest related on his insta for weeks, no training pictures nothing, not even shared his contract story or nothing.. just a picture of him and odoi whispering

Small issue of his wife having birth complications, not been that important.

If you look at the tag on the insta post, CHO put a finger crossed emoji. Assume referring to the personal issue mentioned previously.

He hasn't put any Tottenham content on there either  :Thumbs up:

He remains a red and nothing else matters.

Thought MGW looked really uncomfortable in front of the camera next to the Big Man on Saturday night. I wonder if he'd just done the deal man to man with EM minutes earlier and had not consulted his agent or his missus? It was like he was really not ready to announce things at that moment. Did EM pull a Cloughy and announce the deal before the agent/missus got in his ear?

Or maybe he was just a bit embarrassed extolling his love for the club just 2 weeks after trying to get out of it?

Either way, something wasn't right.

Good long read from Dan Taylor on The Athletic about the situation. Basically saying we should enjoy what EM has done with sticking it to Spurs and not caving in over a player sale like we've done so many times before.

Let’s just say Morgan and his family are being looked after rather well personally by mr Marinakis - I think some of this has been mis portrayed. Some things should remain private and are bigger than football…

Interesting bit in there about us trying to persuade Angel Gomes to join. Can’t remember there being any concrete links but I always thought he would be a fantastic free signing. Shame it didn’t materialise

I’m delighted he’s staying and I think it’s the best message we can send to every other club - we’re not going to be pushed around and we’re here for keeps.

BUT… I do hope we see a more consistent MGW next season.

No question, he’s been one of our very best performers since promotion. But for me, he went missing last season too often, and some games, when the flicks go to the opposition, the Hollywood passes don’t come off and the free kicks only danger the people in the wall or the fans in the stand, he can be a very frustrating player.

I’m so, so happy how this has worked out, I just hope the new deal, the extra pressure and responsibility of being the highest paid player ever at the club and a World Cup coming up, make him an even better and more consistent player.

I am not convinced by this bloke.

I am not against selling him in January.

I know that sounds harsh but my patience is wearing thin.

If you look at my message before Sniffer’s, you’ll see how happy I was that he signed the new deal.

But I also said he’s frustrating and goes missing.

Well, right now, I’d drop him immediately and get as much as we can for him in Jan.

I’ve had enough of his 4/10 performances. Flicks and tricks that go to the opposition, often a goal opportunity. Simple passes out of play. Having the nerve to shout at teammates.

I thought he’d have a great season to get himself in with a shot of the World Cup.

He’s having the opposite.

Can’t believe how bad he’s been.
