Sunderland have agreed a deal to sign Simon Adingra from Brighton for £18m + 2.5m. They literally won't be able to field a team in Decmeber and January.
Simon Adingra - £18m
Chemsedine Talbi - £16.5m
Reinildo - Free
Habib Diarra - £27m
Noah Sadiki - £15m
Will all be playing in AFCON
Enzo Le Fee - £20m
Close to £100m spent now btw.

We made a similar mistake when first promoted. I guess clubs think we'll tackle that problem when it arrives.

Wasn't that our worst part of the season. Nuno came in we won two in a row. Then Elanga and MGW got injured while Players went to AFCON

Didnt Boly Aina and Sangare all come back injured too?

It's quite funny seeing some of the comments on Twitter. When we went up in our first season everyone said we were 'doing a Fulham' and that it was bound to fail.
Now everyone's saying Sunderland are 'doing a Forest' and that it's the only way to stand a chance!

What I've learned over these last few years is that nobody in the media knows anything. Its all bluster and, basically, bollocks.

Agreed and people just need to apply that thinking to transfers as well. Apart from a few reliable journos all these rumours and speculation re targets is usually just that and drummed up to sell stories/gain likes.

Ignore Talkshite and other idiots but I do think we have changed the narrative from the more intelligent media. The scepticism when we did it was understandable and lets get real here 29 signings was scattergun and some were downright baffling.
However its definitely shifted the opinion that literally the only way to survive is gamble and spend big and wide and “the Forest method” can pay off. Some wont work out for Sunderland same as for us but they may just have enough gems assembled to see them over the line.
Bottom 3 isn’t going to be as predictable as some thought.

Bottom 3 isn’t going to be as predictable as some thought. 29 signings was crazy but tbf some of those were to replace/cover for ones brought in who then got injured (ie Henderson, Niakathe, Bianconne, Lingard, Awoniyi etc) We had an horrific time with injuries that first season back. I’m sure we may well have signed some in the January anyway to help keep us up but some would probably not have happened had it not been for the injuries.

I think my biggest gripe was that the media was almost questioning our right to even try and stay in the league. How dare little Nottingham Forest attempt to upset the lovely premier league apple cart? We'd been out of the top flight for so long, some of these premier league 'experts' didn't even want to acknowledge our status in English football. Gary Neville being top of that list.
