As I said, it seems a bit of an oversight for them not to have done what EM did and made provisions for this before the UEFA guideline.

If they are found to be in breach of any rules then things could get interesting.

Yes to be fair they missed a very important deadline.

Can't see how UEFA can let them off.

We all know Textor is involved with both clubs.

However I think the question is does he have a CONTROLLING interest in both clubs.

EM does in Forest and Olympiakos which is why he put us in a blind trust.

I've heard it said that Textor has only 25% voting rights at Palace therefore has no control of how the club is run.

But I don't know the rules to be honest so lets wait and see.

It would be wrong for them to be kicked out. Those are the rules though. And knowing Forest as we do. We get bumped up only to make a dog's dinner of the opportunity.

Suppose it’s whether they can prove he hasn’t had in recent past and wouldn’t in the future and how they would stop that from happening

This sounds like a good story the press have run with but I'm sure the reality will be that they can easily demonstrate he has no controlling interest, or there will be some leniency given on the basis that they qualified by winning a cup, which could not really be forseen until the whistle went in the final.

I don't see why they should be shown any leniency based on that. It was by no means certain that we'd qualify for a Champions League place (and indeed didn't) but EM still did everything he had to before the UEFA deadline.

I don't think they'll be excluded either as, like you say, they'll probably claim Textor has no controlling interest (though he does have the largest share of ownership of Palace, even though it's not majority ownership). I don't know how stringent UEFA's rules are on that though. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

They've made this mess for themselves though in my opinion and if they are excluded I won't be particularly sympathetic.

Yes, reasonable comments. The point i'm trying to make is that this is probably a good news story but the reality is its just a
bureaucratic process that needs going through.

All 4 owners have 25% controlling stake

Mail article here suggesting that Textor is now trying to sell his stake in Palace.

Surely there has to be a time limit on that though. UEFA can't wait on it forever.
