Also, I was reading this morning that Palace might have a headache if Lyon win their cup final as they'd be in the Europa. As both them and Palace have Eagle Football as part owners, and they've not addressed it before the deadline in March. Lyon are the higher ranked club, so if Lyon win and they don't find a late way of splitting. It might be Conference for them

People have been saying that Chelsea need to finish in the Europa place (6th) for a final win place to drop down to 7th. Assuming that's right, it would suggest that if they qualify for Champions League we don't get an additional Europa place for them winning the Conference.

Ultimately, we beat Chelsea we're happy. Minimum then is Europa League and if either Villa or Newcastle fail to win we're in the Champions League.

That scenario isn’t realistically possible. 

HOWEVER, it is entirely possible that we draw with Chelsea and villa win at Old Trafford. 
That would leave Chelsea in 6th and us in 7th assuming Newcastle don’t lose.

If Chelsea then win the Conference AND you are correct that the Conference pass to the Europa league trumps their entry into that competition by finishing in 6th- and I’m not convinced that’s the case - then a draw might still be enough for us to get into the Europa.

That’s a very real possible scenario so I’d love to know if it’s right.

I don’t think that’s correct. Draw and Villa lose is our only pathway to 6th and Europa. We can draw and finish 7th we only get Europa if Chelsea are 6th. If they win conference they get another Europa spot but if they get CL by finishing 5th that Europa spot is given up, it doesn’t get passed down to another english club.
