20 years ago today ”2x Eurpean Champions Nottingham Forest” were relegated to League 1 following defeat at QPR
The Forest team that day
Nottm Forest: Gerrard, Curtis, Morgan, Taylor, Melville, Robertson (Louis-Jean 67), Gardner, Evans (Bopp 62), Powell, Commons, Dobie (Harris 56).
Subs Not Used: Doyle, Hjelde.

Good grief. Worth noting that as bad as seemed was we were still to face memorable occasions vs Woking Chester and Yeovil, we hadnt even bottomed out. That phrase former European champions was gleefully repeated by the media at every opportunity far more than its ever mentioned now.

Thats why I want to enjoy every moment of where we are now, no whinging or complaining, I loved my trip to Wembey at the weekend. We've come a long way.

From that team, I'd keep wes Morgan.

Eight years to the day since *that* Jordan Smith save and goals from Britt Assombalonga and Chris Cohen helped us hang on to Championship status on goal difference.

Think it's important to remember that before we call the possibility of missing out on Champions League football a 'failure' or 'bottling it.'

Yes we should always want the best results possible but we should never, ever forget where we were less than ten years ago.

All from a team that was gutted after losing to Sheff Utd in Play Offs. I have a lot of love for Paul Hart's team, the fact many went on to have decent careers elsewhere shows that that team was PL worthy (albeit would have been likely sold to bits and we'd have the lowest PL points not derby)

Saw that on Sky randomly recently, that save really was as good as we remember it!

I believe this is the first time since 2017 he has really had any kind of run of games.

Agreed. Could be playing European football next season.

At 30 hopefully he has a few more good seasons.

Could come back as 3rd choice keeper and fill one of the 4 academy products we need in the squad.
Can’t see us filling the 3rd keeper position in the  25 man European squad with a non academy produced player.
