Nottingham Forest - Manchester City
Just got back. Enjoyed the day. Boxpark was good. First Half was poor. 2nd half was much better. Could’ve scored 3/4 but it wasn’t our day.
Williams, Yates will be back on Thursday, Wishful thinking but hopefully Aina is back too.
5 big games to go. One more win secures Europe of some kind.

I was gutted - we didn’t turn up first half and danillo had an absolute mare. Also don’t like MGW coming in from the right. Dominguez was busy helping out Abbott and our centre halves were way too passive first 10 minutes. They dig in and Mancity played their boring metronome Tika taka for the rest of the half. Then can the key moment- Elanga has to score that… on the replay it was probably harder than my view in the stands but still - then came the sucker punch. At 2-0 I was willing for Nuno to take off as many of our better starters as possible with Thursday in mind. But he resisted and we really didn’t get the rub of the green after that. MGW second miss was opposite to elangas in that I thought he was really unlucky from my view in the stands but the replay shows it was a sitter really. Then the scamble with big T. Fair play to the squad players- jota doing a shift v doku at right back, sosa also showing for the ball and big T putting himself about. Sangare though was th3 pick and wonder if we have underused him. Be interesting pr3season for him.
Sels- 7 good save with feet but wish he’d come out to some corners
Abbott- 7 did well
Milo- 7 did well but a bit passive first half
Murillo- 6feel both goals he was done- first too slow to engage and second out jumped.
Toff 7 - steady
Danillo- 4 really poor
Dom 7 not his best game but ran his legs off and pressed on his own at times
Anderson- 6 position first half didn’t help - much better after the break
MGW - 7 see Anderson - however second half showed why Man City etc are interested.
Wood- 7 battled well with no service
Cho- 7 decent game - came alive second half

Elanga- 8 game changer but missed a sitter
Big T 7 putting himself about - unlucky with his snapshot
Sangare-8 looked very good
Sosa 6- feel for him - shows all the time but hardly anyone plays him the ball
Silva 6 - just for gamely slotting in at RB

Bit harsh saying Awoniyi missed a sitter. It came at him quickly and he just reflexively stuck a leg out at it.

If man city win, Does the europa league spot go to the beaten finalist (I think it use to) or Does it go to 7th place in the league?

7th in the league.

Which is why I want Man City to win. It would be pretty galling to finish a brilliant season in seventh then get knocked out of the Conference League qualifying stage by some nothing team from Kazakhstan. Champions League or Europa would mean straight into the league stages.

Of course if we've secured at least sixth place by the FA Cup Final then I hope Palace smash them.  :Funny:

Great day out but unfortunately best team won. Literally didn’t turn up first half, good chances second but City always looked so composed on the ball. Think stick Yates Neco and Aina in there it may have been different but we just didn’t have enough.

Baffled why Nuno persists with Danilo over Sangare.
MGW excellent 2nd half , wouldn’t be surprised if Pep was tapping him up.

Finally a great turn out by the fans although there was some proper embarrassing behaviour too. Saw at least 3 red on red fights breaking out, that’s just what I saw so there was probably more. Don’t know if it was twats who don’t normally go or couldn’t handle beer and sunshine, f**k off and never go to the CG please.

I really think Danilo needs to be moved on. He has been awful this season and really he is not up to it if we are to be a top Premier League team. Perhaps Nuno is giving him a chance - but I think the evidence suggests its time for him to move on now. Just really weak and he is not getting better, worse if anything.

I don't think Danilo is a deep player.

Waking up in London feeling absolutely terrible scared of checking my bank balance.

Good day but gave them too much respect first half. If you only play one you play Elanga for pace but it's done now.

I can see, where you're coming from JW but let us not forget Danilo suffered an horrendous injury at the very start of the season To be out of action for so long, plus all the recovery and rehab he has had to do, he is lacking a full pre-season. The same applies to Taiwo really, as he dropped out of the squad for a time for family matters during pre-season and has had injury problems for the best part of the season.

I say give him a full pre-season, then see if he overcomes his demons. If he doesn't then we sell him. I remember us questioning the decision to buy CHO due to him not getting over his Achilles injury at Chelsea, but Nuno persevered with the lad and he is now one of our best players.

The decision to keep playing Danilo over Sangare is a bit baffling, especially now at the business end of the season, where every performance needs to be 100% from the entire team. We certainly cannot afford to be carrying passengers at this stage.

I think he’ll come good, Anderson was rollicking Danilo regularly- it was positionally. There is definitely a player there but maybe just needs a bit more time to recover mentally from his injury and to adapt to playing in different positions. I believe he was a CDM in Brazil rather than a more forward midfielder?

Slept on it as usual before commenting.

Feeling slightly disappointed this morning.

In the end I thought the occasion turned out to be a bit of a damp squib.

Also slightly baffled by Nuno's team selection.

If Elanga is 100% fit and not nursing an injury then I am a bit miffed that he didn't start the game as I suspect are many others.
