That was always likely to be the case. Hopefully the scan doesn't find any major issues.

Wood had the scan on Tuesday in NZ, so I guess Nuno is being economical here !

This is from Paul Taylor's Q&A earlier:
"Our information over the last few days has been that the club are relaxed and optimistic about his injury - that, while his involvement against Brighton was not certain, he was not expected to be out beyond that. Nuno's words were a bit more cautious in the live section of his press conference, when he said that they were 'concerned' about his injury. But he did go into more detail in the embargoed section of the presser, which we can't use the quotes from until 10.30pm. In the broadest sense, while the club are waiting for the results of a scan he had on the problem, the sense is still that he has a chance of being involved against United. Given that he has not started a game in the FA Cup so far - and that he was unlikely to have started on Saturday - it is not a major blow for him to miss the FA Cup game. Forest would be happier with him available on the bench, of course. But they will be even happier if he is back to face Manchester United at the City Ground on Tuesday. Which does have a chance of happening."

In Nuno's interview with Colin Fray - He said about Wood - We are positive that it will only be the Brighton game he is out of.

Tails mentioned quotes that are embargoed until 10:30 i assume his athletic article will be updated then

The embargoed quotes were ‘He has improved in terms of pain but we will wait for the specialist'.
‘I don’t know, honestly [if he will be fit for the next Premier League game]. We have been speaking and I think the right way is to wait and see. I hope he will be available for the next one as long as the image shows there is nothing there.’
