Ridiculous selections and really gutted for MGW in particular.

Suspect playing in the CL will help MGW if it was to happen with us.

Out of interest though, who are the players you think that have got in ahead of him by playing for a more fashionable team?

Quansah ahead of Branthwaite is probably the only one I can really see that fits that bill (and that is a weird one).

Foden - he does not deserve to be called up based on this season's form.

Scored more than MGW in the league in a pretty down season for him.

Unrelated and I know it's been mooted before but perhaps MGW would have a better shot at the England team if he played deeper permanently. I know there's a lot of talk about signing a 6 in the summer but why not MGW/Anderson there and another attacking midfielder further forward like Cunha. We're going need to transition to be more attacking anyway, perhaps this could be a way of doing it.

Hasn't Lewis Skelly been sent off twice recently?

Some eyebrow raises but I'm not deeply offended by it. Dan Burn and the guy from Liverpool who doesn't play are a bit iffy.

When MGW was first called up he wasn't performing well and it was because he had a good relationship with Carsley. He probably deserves a call up now but what's important for Tuchel is an actual style of play.

Burn is like Lewis Dunk, big bloke, past it not international standard and would get absolutely rinsed by a team like France or Spain. I accept Albania and Lativa aren’t going to cause much of a problem but we’re hardly looking to the future.
Foden has been a passenger every single time he has ever played.
Solanke is only there because he plays for a London team somebody told Tuchel was a big club.
Rashford is only there because he used to play for Man Utd not because he is playing for Villa as a sub.
Quanshah who never plays but he’s a Liverpool player so must be good
Henderson WTF
Lewis Skelly fine one for the future although don’t think he has done enough to be considered an international and again its big club bias.

One of those was immediately rescinded and was one of the worst red card decisions of all time so not fair to tar him with that one.

Maguire has done well in international football and he isn't too dissimilar to BDB, it's slower than PL football.
Foden 7 goals this season, MGW 5.
Solanke had a great year last year and been injured a lot, what striker are you picking instead?
He basically said Rashford was picked to show he's doing well, he's clearly a guy that needs praise and did score 30 goals, a year or two ago, I would've picked Rashford.
Quansah, yes agreed, bizarre.
Hendo seems to be more of a character thing, be worried if he got lots of game time though
MLS, I'd of picked, are you really picking Tyreek Mitchell or Spence above him? We're not exactly flush with LB options.

Quite happy they've not been picked in short term.

A) they will feel they have something to prove tomorrow and will hopefully send a message
B) can have a bit of a rest
C) can be on it against Man utd and villa

Long term it is more concerning as they may feel they need to move to a 'bigger' club in order to get england recognition

Is Curtis Jones better than MGW? Doesn't he get like 10 minutes at the end of every Liverpool game?

Whereas MGW starts in every game of the third placed team and is in the top 10 premier league player this season, for me. It's just bizarre.

That'll mean that he'll have his summer break curtailed. If he's not going to figure under Tuchel then I'd prefer him to have a proper summer break, and not have to continue training on in the hope he might get a lucky call up.

I honestly don't know what more MGW can do at club level to claim an England place, other than join Man Utd or similar.

He's been absolutely key to our success this season. Every game that gets televised results in the pundits declaring how good is he.

I'm now of the opinion that if he signs for Liverpool and gets just 10 mins a game as a sub Tuchel pickes him.

How gibbs white and jones match up this season

Also guess who these two are. Our player on the left, picked for England on the right. Both same position this season according to their heat maps

They're playing pretty different positions aren't they?

Jones and MGW? Here are there heat maps for the prem this season

The point was made that jones isn’t playing as much as MGW so why pick him.
