Wow - no Gibbs-White, let alone CHO or Anderson. Still at least they get a rest.
Jordan Henderson is back though.
Honestly this is a more boring squad than Southgate used to pick.

I haven’t seen anything from Lewis-Skelly to suggest he’s up to the standard either. He’s only played a handful of games at left back and has been sent off twice and should have been sent off a third time. I do understand the call up for Rogers, but someone like Foden hasn’t pulled up any trees this season and Palmer is in dreadful form. I don’t understand how Gibbs-White hasn’t made it

No MGW is pretty baffling, picking Jones & Eze above him seems questionable to me.
Saving his recall for the game at the City Ground.

Palmer is still a class player, he 100% should be in the squad, less convinced by Foden who's not done anything for England.
Also, don't want to sound like an Arsenal fan on twitter but this bizarre attempt to criticise MLS (not aiming this at just you, just that I've seen it loads) that he gets sent off too much. One of those was the most ridiculous red card I think I've ever seen and was rescinded instantly so you can't count it.
What other left back would you have picked instead of him?

Dont think TT is going to be around for much time as England head coach based on his first squad selection, going back 10 years in my view, going to be a bore fest again!

Being selfish I am happy we have no players in the squad.
Disappointed though for the likes Of MGW, CHO and EA.
Their chance will come if they maintain their levels.

I’m just not convinced he’d be anywhere near the squad if he didn’t play for Arsenal. I’m sure he’s talented, but he’s only 18 and could probably benefit from playing with the U21’s. It’s only recently he was moved from midfield to left back, so he’s still learning the position. It’s a shame Hall is injured, but both Mitchell and Spence have played well at left back this season. I don’t think either are likely to be the answer long term though and neither is Davis

Some seriously questionable decisions in this squad.
4 keepers? Quansah ahead of Branthwaite? Walker at 34 years old? Henderson at 34 years old? Eze, Jones and Foden ahead of Gibbs White? Rashford has had 4 good (that's being generous) half's of football in 2 years and gets in?
Selfishly happy our players get to rest, as long as they aren't thinking they have to move to get in the squad.

One of the least imaginative and most backward thinking squads ever. But yes at least MGW cant get injured.
He must be gutted though. The problem is this sort of thing makes players think they have to be playing for one of the cartel 6 to get picked for England and makes them look for a move elsewhere

Surely starting at left back for the 2nd best team in the league and CL quarter finalists is a reason to be in the squad. I get Spence has played well but despite that Spurs have been garbage so how can has he really been? Mitchell has been consistent, never quite understood why he hasn't been given more of a chance but I guess there's a reason he still plays for Palace and not someone better.
With Hall injured, those are the left backs I would've picked personally.

There are plenty of players from non big 6 teams, 3 Palace, 3 Newcastle, 2 Villa (plus Rashford).
