Why the urge to concentrate on the league for a slim chance to qualify for a tournament that you've got no chance of winning. As opposed to a good chance to win another competition?

My personal view is winning the FA Cup doesn't meas as much as it once did as its all about Europe nowadays so finishing in a position in the league that qualifies for Europe is our best bet but that's my own view.
