Listening to the Nottz Tv interview with Keane from Oct- listening to him makes me wonder how long it’ll be before Yates is first name on the team sheet...?

Yates did very well alongside Geddy pre-season. They seemed to really 'tick' together.
Having those ahead of Watson (or maybe Bridcutt will come in...) would give Yates the confidence to take it to the next level. Yates has that will to win.
Maybe that's something Keane would recognise in the youngster.

Really interesting interview
Keep it simple, don’t get promoted with kids- need experience
Need leaders and thinks modern footballers don’t try hard enough and have it wasy

Geudiora will thrive. He actually has a great attitude. Won’t ever understand why billy me 2 binned him. Lolley, cash and Osborn too. It will be interesting as overall we are pretty well stocked in midfield. Less so in defence and strikers. I do worry for Carvalho but he does work hard and seems to have a decent enough attitude.

I don't, we've had a decent explanation for his absence, he's not been bombed out, he's still in the match day squads & he's been told what he's got to do. I think he's a cracking young player, with bags of potential & as such I back him to fight his way back in to the team, therefore I have no worries for him.
Objectively, we're a Championship/2nd division team, & if he can't fight his way back in to a Championship/2nd division side then quite frankly he's not the player I thought he was. However, my money is on him coming good & still being part of our future, but that's down to him now & we'll just have to wait & see. He might end up benefitting from the addition of king of that happens. King could provide more cover in midfield whilst also offering attacking threat meaning carvalho can slot in instead of gueddy.

Hopefully as the defensive issue resolved they’ll be less need for a protective, defensive midfield that will allow 1, even 2 of the CM to be afforded attacking licence.
Keane talked about momentum in that nottz tv video and o’neil Will know a winning side will adapt better than a losing one.
The fact that joao covers a lot of ground will stand him in good stead but will Keane allow him to do his little pretend jump for headers? Hmm...
