According to the Post, going to work for EM over all three clubs, earning 3 times more than he was on at Arsenal

Slightly odd? Former shadow minister in both Sport and Transport. Stood down 2017, involved in music and betting & gaming council.
No obvious connection to Nottingham in any way. Assume he has got the job for a reason though.

Oh didn’t realise , didn’t read the website announcement just looked up his wiki!
Born in yorkshire and served as MP in Barnsley.
Went to uni in Nottingham which is where the affiliation may come from.

The whole cartledge experiment has been, weird.

I’m sure a lot of what ifs would see him still as chairman and even still just on the board, why wouldn’t he as a lifelong fan want to stay on the board even in a non exec role
