I have not been Nuno’s biggest fan on here but i do not agree with the criticism he is getting for his team selection for this game. We lost so we are looking for reasons but in my opinion Nuno’s logic for the selection was sound. We needed to keep the game tight in the middle of the pitch. Without MGW Fulham have marginally more creativity in their team. An open game would have suited them more. With Ward- Prowse on set pieces, two big strikers, Milenkovic and Yates, we should have been a threat from them to pinch a goal. The truth is most other teams in this division have more quality in their squad than we do. For this game we had our whole best midfield three missing. I think we will need to deploy similar tactics in several matches this season. It is important that Taiwo gets sharper.

I think the only criticism i will lay at Nuno's door is the subbing of Anderson, said it at the time, he's more than capable of playing in a midfield 2 and gives us that creativity we were sadly lacking.
That and i dont know what a front 5 of Jota Silva, CHO, Elanga, Wood and Sosa is meant to look like.

Think it was more a reflection of our forward options, unfortunately have a feeling we will soon be really regretting not managing to get one over the line this summer if Woods golden spell dries for a while.
That said if the tactic was basically hold the lines, hope for a set piece for JWP to ping one onto the head of one of the big lads Im not too impressed. Fair enough at a big club away but not Fulham at home.
