So Elanga to Newcastle in January for a healthy profit. Need a replacement. Theres a young wide forward at Tottenham who seems to be having a really tough time and could use some love. Loan with an option. Would you take him back?

We may need 4 HGC players for Europe next season, so yeah but not to replace Elanga... in addition too.

I would say Sal is talking about Johnson.

Its a bit NO from me as his old man wouldn't allow it for one and if he did he'd want a stupid amount for him.

To be honest our ability to find good bargins at the moment is the road we need to take.

I kind of thought because with both CHO and Elanga they were struggling with the weight of expectation at a big club and seemingly dragged them down. Exactly what is happening with Johnson right now, hes just deleted his insta account presumably after getting a ton of abuse. The ability is there for sure.

If we could get a bargain (say £25m buy back) it would be interesting but agree they may not be at that stage yet. Also agree his old man’s ego could be a problem.

Also think this is the level we should be operating at now, in other words fine to look for those that are playing but underperforming for big clubs. What we shouldn’t be doing is looking in those clubs bomb squads ie Spence

I honestly think Elanga is a better player than Johnson. I've always thought so since Elanga's first few games for us.

It wouldn't suprise me if Johnson's career begins to spiral and he ends up at a promoted side, scrapping to stay up. Anyway, regardless, it's mission accomplished for Jonno snr though, he's got his lad a bumper contract now and probably a massive signing on fee too.
