Nuno Espirito Santo
Manager masterclass today. Dominguez and Anderson stopped the fullback overload in midfield. Slot changed it and Nuno then pounced with our wingers.

Its definitely progress and goes beyond Nuno in my opinion.
It the whole club, relatively calm summer, mostly stable and trimmed down squad, no fillers and unwanted faces, far better quality overall, apparently good atmosphere behind the scenes with agreement on how things should be done.
All of that allows Nuno to get to know his players properly and adapt the system to play how he wants.

Whilst I do think Nuno hasn't quite got it down vs the bottom half teams so half, we have been impressively competitive against the top 6. Not just taking or threatening to take point but actually creating similar levels of chances.

Ironically yesterday's performance was pretty similar to when we beat Liverpool in the first year back in the PL. However, Man City, Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Newcastle under Nuno spring to mind as ones where we matched those sides in terms of chances created, which is a big step.

Aye, weren't we a Chris Wood howler from winning vs City?

Until we lose again when the knives will be back out.

Im optimistic enough to think we can be comfortable this year, realistic enough to know we won’t finish 7th.

Lets just enjoy the good results , one game at a time and as you say see where we are in January or better still end of the season.
