Forest were the league champions and Liverpool were the European Cup holders. September 13 1978 at the City Ground where we won 2-0 to the Scouse. The players were all looking forwards to their first foray in Europe and we got drawn against the scouse instead. Watch I Believe in Miracles.

A bit dodgy in Stanley Park that night eh Tricky (the second game at Anfield).

But like the players on the pitch we fought like Lions.

Sadly Sniff I couldnt get to the away game due to work not letting me have the time off to go.

I was at the City Ground though and we fought like lions all along Arkwright street too

I was at the CG game but was a mere youngster of 13 in the bridgford end.
My cousin may well have been with you guys though!


However, my hatred of the Scouse relates to two other reasons though-
Firstly, getting us banned from Europe just at the time cloughie had rebuilt another decent team in the mid 80’s (historically, probably a massive game changer for a provincial club like us and from which we are only now starting to recover); and secondly for Hillsborough where those innocent tragically died but also where I saw behaviour we aren’t allowed to repeat now the narrative has been changed after 30 years of whining.

But let’s no disappear down that rabbit hole or my newly found youthful joy will be lost again!

Similar reasons here we had previously gone to games without a ticket usually to meet friends and have a drink soak up the atmosphere around the ground. Sometimes get a couple of tickets from a tout. However on that day we could not get a ticket so went fishing at Tittesworth listening to the match on the radio. It was grim when the full extent was known, friends told me about some of the sights they had seen and they would never again go to a match away from the City Ground. Then the real pi**er started, we were expected to loose to the Scousers and they had to win the final. Of course Hysel put an end to our European adventures and we never really recovered. I feel we could have gone on to even greater things. Thank you Scousers

Chelsea away was after united. He was good that day too. I actually didn't think he was too bad against Newcastle in the cup. What we need Saturday is him to get hold of the ball for us. 

He did well at that against Newcastle. That penalty has clouded the overall judgment of his overall performance on the night in my view. He needs minutes to get back to full sharpness. I'm starting big T on Saturday. Especially if we're 3 at the back and potentially not using out and out wingers.

Taiwo should be fine to give us an hour on Saturday.
He’s had literally 1 minute game time last 2 weeks, so needs some minutes.
He’s back in today so he should be fine

I agree. His hold-up and link-up play against Newcastle was pretty good. A shame he missed the penalty and the headed chance from Sosa's brilliant free kick of course, but aside from that he wasn't bad. Played the full 90 minutes too which I can't remember him doing many times.

I think you might be being a bit generous there, he was pretty slow and his touch was not great. He definitely did not have a good game vs Newcastle. He missed another great chance where the ball just bounced off him and then he failed to turn 6 yards out.

I think he needs minutes to have a chance to get back to that level but unless Wood is out there's no way he gets in ahead of him.

Awoniyi is the type of player that needs to get in his zone, once in he is excellent.
He needs game time and not get injured, he'll be like a machine,
