Watched Burke regularly at Academy.
Have watched Appiah regularly also. Different type but Arvin has incredible potential & vastly more talented...

Alex just not quite good enough for us unfortunately.
Wasn’t able to kick on from 18 yrs. as a scholar was more highly regarded than Worrall but just not kicked on enough

The fact that our Academy is now sending out players to Notts (last time around), promotion chasing Mansfield and Oldham amongst others shows how regarded our Academy is and the great work that is going on there. It's very much a production line and if we get the odd Joe Worrall, Cash, Os' and Bre' off it, then it more than pays for itself by funds for the club or 1st team playing staff we don't have to spend £10 million on. SA.

Erm. It might have been. I remember him putting in bucket loads of effort and he was doing ok but being worked hard by the opposition.
Could well have been. He didn't get the next game to see if that performance was just nerves or to build on it. I guess, not everyone does a Morgan or an Os' and comes into the side and keeps the shirt. As an aside, is our Academy category 1 yet? Or will we need to get into the Premier realistically for that...AND will it improve our 'catchment' of Academy players for the 1st team and that? SA. |
