Credit to Southgate for those substitutions and what a finish by Ollie Watkins.
Not gonna lie though SR, we got a very very dubious penalty (no I dont think it was a pen) and they hit the bar. But! on the other hand we had one literally stopped on the line, hit a post and had a goal ruled out.
All in all a more entertaining game England have produced to date.
Bring on the Deigos!!

Well done England, for the first time the best team won. Suffered a bit 2nd half but never thought we would lose. Well done Southgate? Perhaps and he has got us there. People lauding him for his subs which I thought were a good 10 mins late. VAR is useless and needs to get in the bin but worked in our favour.
Spain, Im feeling strangely confident.

A much better performance and we deserved to win.
We seem to be gaining some momentum.
We are the underdogs against Spain but I am okay with that.
Bring it on.

I would happily take this to extra time. I honestly think that we have better impact players from the bench than Spain.
I would happily take it to penalties too, I would feel confident of a shoot out victory.

Anything is possible in a knockout game but have to say Spain are the best team in the tournament and we have struggled against teams that are considered weaker and finished 3rd in their respective groups.
The Southgate era has been a repeat of us getting lucky with the knockout rounds with lesser teams and then as soon as we play team from top 10, top 15 in the rankings we get beat and out played quite convincingly.
That said a patchy and poor match with low quality would actually help England and the risk adverse system they play. As it is built around staying in the game and getting that one magic moment from a player. Lucky we do have players that can pull something from nothing across the squad.
Do I think we can win not a chance but it is the hope that kills you and boy am I hopeful.

I had a good feeling about the last euro final and then we went a goal up and Southgate put us in now defend mode. We were on top, aggressive and really controlling the game. Yet he thought he could defend for like 70mins and not need to attack.
Has he learnt? I'm not so sure. He is more a reactive manager than proactive.

Doesn't matter how good a team you are in international football, winning is all that counts.
Everyone remembers Argentina as a good team for winning the last world cup right?
Lost to Saudi Arabia, extra time vs Australia and two people already shootout wins.
Italy needed two shootouts to win Euro 2020.
You don't need to be the best, just be the luckiest and we've done a great job for that so far. Spain have been the best team so far but not by miles. They were largely outplayed vs Germany and France. Literally had two shots vs Framce and scored both.
I believe this will be our day.
