International Football - England - Euros - World Cup Etc
I just could not get behind the appointment of Lampard as England manager. Yeah international football is a different beast but his club record doesn't warrant the appointment in my opinion. Yeah he kept Everton up one season but what else? Took a strong Derby squad, added three players (Mount, Tomori and Wilson) too good for the Championship and improved their league position from 6th to, er, 6th.

Notwithstanding the recent criticism, Southgate's record with England is pretty decent when compared to the other former managers. But he had a pretty ordinary managerial record before he got the job. Wasn't he a bang average Boro manager?

The more I think about it the more I like the sound of Lampard. I've never been convinced that Potter is any good (I have a theory that every manager who goes in at Brighton comes out looking relatively successful. And he replaced Hughton there so it was a low bar). Poch? Has he had any success with fully formed top pro's or is his best work done with younger players?

Lamps would wear the FA blazer and say the right things.

You have to be kidding me Pap.
Besides I fancy going to the next world cup. We wont even qualify with Lampard.

Lampard is rubbish.  Potter or Howe for me any day of the week.  This is of course if Newcastle push Howe out.

I'd rather him than Lampard.

Hopefully Forest go in for this Yamal guy once he passes his driving test.

By far England's best performance of the tournament. First half was excellent and though Netherlands stifled them in the second half they didn't really threaten much.

Credit to Southgate for those substitutions and what a finish by Ollie Watkins.
